  • Teaching staff very less thus few classes are taken
  • Most of the cases are done by interns due to the high patient load

Course Curriculum Overview :

Course curriculum is not well oriented by the officials Things we need to know for doing patients are not well taught bcoz that's is what we need for MDS (post graduation) so they donot teach them now Which is wrong So according to me Clinical stuff and practicals should be more concetrated on instead of theoretical study There need to be a mid term exam conducted likewise in MBBS for better preparation Proper test which are not regularly conducted should be there Teachers need to be hired Posts for teachers are vacant Teaching staff needs to teach students instead of pgs

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

80000 general +10000 increase every year Scholarships for Scheduled class 80000 +10000 increase for backward class Yearly toppers in overall BFUHS in BDS get scholarships in the next year No other merit based scholarships are available

Campus Life :

Very sadly there is not campus life No hostels are provided to BDS students And they have to opt for pgs outside the campus There are no fests of dental college patiala AURA is organised an annual fest of GOVT medical college patiala But dental students are not allowd in tht So there is no in campus life for dental students No annual fests nothing

Admission :

Dental college of patiala is the best out of othere government dental colleges in punjab Due to high OPD and new cases Private was not an option for me Thus i had to choose giverment college So patiala was a relevant choice Moreover many seniors recommended govt dental collg of patiala

Faculty :

Faculty to student ratio is very low due to low teaching staff Pgs are really good nd teach us new things apart from their own patient load Teachers dont often take classes but pgs do Exams are moderately tough 1-2 students generally fail Some drop out due to mbbs Course curriculum not at all relevent Things we need to know for doing patients are not generally taught Theory is what they concentrate more on

Course Curriculum Overview:

In the Initial years, you get to have a balance between curricular and extracurricular activities but in the final year, it becomes difficult to manage both as you have to go for patient hunting when sometimes patient flow becomes less.

Dentistry is about medicine and artistic skills. It is also not as hectic as mbbs world. You'll gain success if you work hard and make this as your passion. Here you'll learn to make and improve smiles and related structures.
