Review for MCM DAV College for women by Veena

Dislikes

  • Attendance is compulsory upto 75% which is according to me is not a good thing
  • Location of the campus is a little far from the main road mostly we have to walk alot to reach there

Course Curriculum Overview :

Msc chemistry course has alot benifits as after completing the course we can do further studies or can opt for pharmacy, clinical research associate, chemist, lab assistant and further more options are there. In my opinion the changes that I want is that practical needs to more precise and should be performed under well guidance of the teacher so that every student can easily learn the procedure and have good knowledge.

Internships Opportunities :

I don't know about the internship. But many companies offer come through form. I don't have knowledge of companies visiting college. But as per my knowledge companies came to the college and select students according to there intelligence.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fees for MSC chemistry is around 34000 which includes examination fee and library charges also. There is no need to submit extra fees for anything. The fees is for one year. MSc chemistry is two years course which means the total fees is 68000.

Campus Life :

The college environment is quite nice. There is open space for sitting in leisure time and a common room with AC for girls. A canteen is available which includes all type of food. Stationary is also present. Msc department has three laboratory and one instrumental room in which modern equipment are there which needs maintenance. College has different clubs and group like dance group, management club, students council club, helpline club etc. overall the college has all the things which is needed by the students. Well maintained computer labs, seminar hall, a big hall in which many kinds of functions happen. Many times different celebrities came to our college for promotion purposes.

Admission :

I choose this college because I studied in co-ed school and did my graduation from co-ed college. I want to explore women college that's why I got admission in this college. Second, it is near to my home. I had second option for co-ed college but it's far away from my location. Procedure I followed was, firstly I have filled the form of the college which includes 900rs registration fees and then merit list came and as my name was there I got the call from the faculty and got the admission on same day.

Faculty :

The faculty is almost females. They are very friendly, solve problems of the students and motivates alot. As the MSC chemistry course is of two years. It include 4 semester which is one semester for 6 months and 2 for a year. It includes mid semester exams also which is also added to our reports. Final exams held in the end of semester month like if semester start from August then mid semester exams held in October and final in December. Exams are not so hard not so easy.

Remarks:

The institute offers great opportunities. The faculty is very prominent. The subjects offered are suitable for my career choice. The infrastructure, including the library adds to the charm. It's been a good decision so far.

Placement Experience:

In my course most of the students plan to pursue P. Hd. but those who want to be placed are helped by the University placement cell. Companies like Policy Bazaar, Reliance Nippon Life insurance, IIMS, TCS participate in placement. The average salary offered is around 3. 5 Lakhs.
