Remarks :

Overall its a good college but lacks many things which an autonomous college should have.

Entrance Preview :

MH-CET 2013 i scored 108/200As i stay in Ghatkopar so its nearer to me. And this is also the best among top 5 engineering college in Mumbai.

Internships Opportunities :

L&T, Infosys, Accenture, Tech Mahindra, JP Morgan etc are among the best companies which come for placements. Minimum Criteria is approx 7 CGPI plus and followed by aptitude and personal interview

Placement Experience :

Infosys, accenture, L&T, Tech Mahindra, JP Morgan.They offer around 3.5lac to 12lac annual package salaryCOMPS & IT department has max no of placements. 80%while other departments: 65-75%

College Events :

KJSCE has 2 festivals :1.Abhiyantriki (Technical)- ODD SEM2.Symphony (Cultural)-EVEN SEMand many different workshops on management and economical fields too.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

Expensive college as per infrastructure and other amenities.(NO WIFI,NO AC) 1.5lakhs approx during the admsn in 1st yr and subsequently it increases 7000-8000 per year.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Ratan Tata scholarship is offered for the top 2-3 scorers of each branch and some prizes for per subject toppers. College provides scholarships only to the Jain Students.

Campus Life :

Somaiya's campus is considered as 1 among the best and biggest campus among all other colleges. College has many different extracurricular activities but it doesnt provide full Financial support and even fail to provide academic support to such students.

Hostel Facilities :

Engineering Hostel facility is okk (3/5)but the mess food is nice and has different varierty everyday.

External Expense : Rs.2000 - Rs.4000

Alumni/Alumna :

Seniors are very helpful and even the alumni keeps many sessions on different fields for the students. Ragging is completely banned and its not at all done.

Exam Structure :

As being an Autonomous College;Semester exams starts almost 1 month prior to Mumbai University Colleges exams.ODD SEM: starts in End Oct and ends in 1st week Nov with no PL and only 1 day holiday gap btwn 2 papers for both semester. EVEN SEM: starts on En

LIFE at VIT

Placement Experience:

Students from the 7th semester onwards are eligible for campus placements. Core Biomedical companies like GE, Medtronics, biosense etc and IT companies like TCS, JIO, INFOSYS, CAPGEMINI etc Recruit Biomedical Engineers. Most Biomedical Students prefer Masters over placements. 80 percent of students from selected candidates get placed. I will go for Placements and I will get into post graduation after clearing GATE 2023.

Remarks:

Location is most likely a factor for me. It is closed to my home. And the another factor is that, Different colleges offer different programs with their curriculum. For example, as an Engineering student, I had a set of classes that I was required to take, with little deviation apart from electives.

I haven't experienced placements yet. but yes the deserving students get internship every year. The whole staff of this college is very nice.
