CTAE : in and out

Dislikes

  • The first thing i heavily dislike about my college is the crowd i.e. the students from other branches. Except mining, CSE and electrical engineering, braches have students with bottomline percentile in jee mains exam
  • The second thing i heavily dislike about my college is the lack of young professors and permanent faculties.

Course Curriculum Overview :

(talking about my branch specifically) The syllabus of the college is updated whenever required. The recent update was made 2 years ago. The curriculum of the college is above average I'd say. If a student studies the current curriculum of the college thoroughly, he can be no less informed and educated than any other top college student.

Internships Opportunities :

Talking about mining engineering, Internships are provided to every individual Companies like COAL INDIA LIMITED TATA STEEL HINDUSTAN ZINC AND COPPER, etc provide internships to us For other branches, the students have to find their own internships for resume. And almost, every student gets the internship in the college. (CS, AI-DS face some problems though)

Placement Experience :

The average placement of the college can be concluded as 4-7 lpa. Mining being the creamy layer of the college With an average placement of 12-16 lpa and 100% placement is really phenomenal. Electrical engineering has recently performed very well with an astonishing 95% placement of students with an average of 6-7 lpa and 12,16 lpa being highest. Agricultural engineering is also an underrated branch of the college with 100% placement. Other branches like civil engineering and mechanical engineering are relatively not preferred by students due to bad professors and lack of good placement ratio

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The tuition fees for a common student with no reservation is around 35,000 for 1 semester. However there are two types of seats available in the college 1st : GAS (Govt. Affiliated Seat) 2nd : SFS (Self Facilitated Seat) The fees is 35000 for SFS students The fees is exactly half of the GAS students i.e. around 17000-18000 However there is a tuition fees waiver seat also available for at the most one student in every branch. (I am facilitated with the tuition fees waiver seat) The fees for the TFWS seats is 1/4th the fees of a normal student i.e. just 8000 rupees.

Campus Life :

The campus life of CTAE can be concluded as above average with good scenic points available at multiple locations in the college. The college has an astounding campus area of 250 acres. And to be honest, the campus is not less than any nit or gfti. There is also a dedicated sports complex for badminton, table tennis and there are also 3 large grounds for football, cricket and hockey!! There is also a basketball and volleyball court available for students.

Hostel Facilities :

The hostel is pathetic, i repeat the hostel is pathetic For every year, The mess food is forced upon you to eat. Trust me the chapatis they make are undigestable and the other food they make so below average. The hostels are not well maintained, the rooms are like an abandoned place to live. The wifi of the hostel is probably the only good thing driving the students to stay in it

Admission :

The admission in the college is carried out by REAP i.e. the counselling process at pan rajasthan level. The first preference is given to the JEE MAINS score of the students. The second preference is given to the BOARD exam grades. Just like every other college of India, the reservation system is facilitating undeserving kids here too. Although the reservation for them is regulated. There is also specific reservations for other state students, ex-servicemen and ex-armymem.

Faculty :

Talking about the faculties first, there are very few permanent faculties in every branch and guest faculties are in majority (for specific branches only). The guest faculties are totally not bothered about the college results and just become your headache afterwards by giving you less marks deliberately. Qualification wise, every professor is a PhD or atleast M.tech graduated. Talking about the teaching techniques of the professors? See that's the reason why no one wants to attend class, i hope that helps. Although there are a few teachers who have extreme good knowledge and are very helpful. Approachability wise, you can contact the teacher anytime of the day. Conditions applied, they shouldn't be having a personal time.

Other Applied Colleges

MBM Engineering College - [MBM] | Bachelor of Engineering [BE] (Mining Engineering)

The college I'm currently in is situated in my native place and the average placement is rather same.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Food is a vast subject and people will not stop eating, so the scope of food technology is just amazing. The college has its own faculty for different subjects. This btech course is of 4 years ie 8 semesters. Each semester has midterms and final semester exams. Last semester is for an internship. Midterms are of 20 marks, practical of 30 marks and final semester theory exams of 50 marks, so passing the exam is damn easy. Regular classes with good faculties make this course easy.

A good type of companies like Google, Microsoft, Apple, etc offer internships two together off-campus and on-school grounds where there exist many assistant roles ready for use to enhance our ability and get ready for future placements. We also disturb do a variety of projects to embellish our skills. Out of it, 60-70% of students get placed. My plan after getting a degree is to start up my own startup. College also supports new startup plans.

Placement Experience:

Our campuses placement scenario has been positive with a 100% placement rate. Around 2 months before the placement session, the placement cell of our college contact recruiters after which through the job announcement form, all the companies provide our necessary data. Most importantly, everyone needs to know that the placement session occurs twice a year i.e. between January to April and August to November. Above all, the highest package offered in the previous year was 45 LPA and that as an average package 7-8 L was witnessed. Also, since our college offers summer internships.
