  • The language barrier- not saying the people aren't welcoming, you should learn basic Tamil before moving here as it will make life easier
  • Not enough activities for arts students, this is an engineering college which have started giving different courses so all the activities are for engineering students only

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course curriculum is well made for our department. We even studied some basic aspects of journalism, advertising and aptitude. The English department can include more extra curricular activities in the curriculum.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Course fees differ from department to department, the English department fees was 45000 approx. We didn't have to buy a lot of books for our course. The hostel is bit costlier like 1 lakh for non AC rooms and 2 lakhs for AC room. you can't survive without AC it's too hot in Chennai

Campus Life :

There are a lot of fests in the college like Milan in March, then Aarush during oct-nov months. Both of them have multiple programs and competition. There is also an inter department competition called which is not to be missed. I saw a lot of celebrities in my time there. We have small weekly shows in srm too where anyone can perform. It's amazing the fest life is really something to look out for.

Hostel Facilities :

Hostels are okish, the food is very South Indian and you might have issues adjusting with it, the quality is not good but not bad.The rooms are cleaned daily and the washrooms are cleaned too so cleanliness isn't an issue. There were no power cuts too. The wardens are very strict, there is a curfew of 7:30-8 pm and there is biometric attendance in hostel. I lived in Senbagam hostel which was non AC. There are multiple pgs and flats near the college too, in my last year I lived in estancia apartments and it was super comfortable.

Admission :

I didn't take any entrance for my department, just a general interview. The admission process is a little difficult because you have to run around the campus for different things. you can fill online application and then they will call you for admission if you pass all criteria.

Faculty :

The faculty are very well educated and very helpful. I can't speak for engineering but for the English department we a good faculty to student ratio. No faculty is ever so busy to not listen to your problems or solve your doubts. My time was cut short by COVID so I wanted to learn from faculties more

Course Curriculum Overview:

Specific aspects of the curriculum that influenced my decision to choose this course is to learn more about this subject. All they teach you is how to get a particular job. It's job is teach you how to work Providing work integrated learning opportunities and students out in the real world and forstering collaboration One third of the time of paper maybe given as extra time in the examination.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well the course provides almost everything which is needed and available. This is not a normal economics course as it involves statistics, python, core math and also dives into data science. This allows the students to explore various subjects and can choose which is their best fileld. The curriculum overall is very rigorous and intense but you can crack it if you study regularly. About the frequencies of the examinations, we have 2 internal examinations and 1 end semester examination. I can guarantee that this course is super rigorous but im not sure if i would necessarily say that the course is "practical" and it helps us in the real word. I cannot comment on the practicality of the courses. The exams are not super difficult and its moderate. Getting more than 90% can be challenging although clearing the paper won't be an impossible task.

Course Curriculum Overview:

This course is really helpful for people who want to take IAS. The faculty will be very calm and provide the best information on the current situation. All the faculty are finished with Ph.D. Their teaching methods will be so good also they help each and every student with their doubts. Exams are like easy when we attain internals then we can clear the exam easily. The minimum pass mark is 35.

Remarks:

The college should focus on providing students placement opportunities too. Whether they'll get placed themselves isn't guaranteed, therefore the college should undertake it themselves and provide them with placement.
