My experience at the KR Mangalam

Dislikes

  • Placement opportunities, not everyone receives a good placement
  • The location of the University is a little out of reach which makes travelling a painful experience

Course Curriculum Overview :

The moot court really made me interested in the college and the active participation and the repetition of moot courts so everyone gets to participate. Moot court competition are dealt with real life examples which is extremely helpful for lawyers. To improve the course curriculum and teaching method I think the teachers for particular subject be increase such as financial decision making.

Internships Opportunities :

Upto 100 companies have offered internships and none of them offered stipend to first year students but we were told by seniors we would be in the coming year when we have gained some knowledge of the field. Internships are compulsory in all the courses, one can opt it for himself but if not, the college provides for it.

Placement Experience :

Everyone from the first year becomes eligible for campus placement. The highest package received was 35 lpa and the average is 12lpa, most of the students get the placement. My plans are to enter corporate law after my course ends

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

There has been a increase policy recently that has increased the bus transportation by 3000 and the fees is also said to be increased by 25000. The complete cost for the education of a academic year is 1,55,000 and hostel fees is also in the same range I have not recieved a stipend as I am only in the first year but the recent job fair helped a lot of students to get an internship.

Campus Life :

A annual fest is always there which has creative names everytime, last time it was etude fest and rendezvous. The library is heavily stocked up with every book and the computers are accessible easily. For sllaw students manupatra is provided for access only in the college premises. All the social group and clubs are student run like under 25 club, chetra club, Mun club. All sorts of sports are available from badminton to basketball. All the classes have air conditioning and a smart board.

Hostel Facilities :

The quality of meals have improved in the past year, the registration process is a little lengthy and affordability wise it is a little costly when compared to other living options. Each student is provide with a bed, study table, and chair and a chair washroom between two.

Admission :

The admission process was smooth after submitting the fees, the application form and other information's is available on the website but otherwise it's easily accessible at any point of time. The frequency and timing of exams are also very convenient and gives the student time to prepare

Faculty :

The faculty to student ratio is pretty good, every students gets the attention and it has never been a problem to communicate with the teachers. Teacher teach in creative manners as to being able to communicate well and educate the students well. You can easily approach any faculty member at anytime and they will be helpful.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Lawyers are big supporters of law and justice. I got influenced by an advocate's courage and his loyalty towards justice . I wants fighting for those people who has no knowledge of their rights and also they have no economic support for fight against those who deprived their rights. That's why l wants to become a lawyer.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course of ballb 5 year is the best course. I get to know about this course by my friend and i also have interest in this. By doing this course we get to know about the real world that how an offender gets punishments. The course of ballb can be improved by proving an extra class to student so that doubt can be solved. And the timing for exam should be in morning form 10 am to 1 pm so that all student should come.

Placement Experience:

Placement ratio is decent in Jindal. Around 100 students get placed every year. A lot of people who come here plan on pursuing masters. The average package here is around 8 to 10 lakhs. Degree from OP Jindal is considered to be a significant one in my opinion.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The faculty is exceptional with a strong knowledge in their respective subjects. The curriculum is elaborate and the teaching methods of the faculty is that where students can accurately interpret what is being thought in class. One reason I took Jindal is because we can take electives from other schools such as the business school literature school etc.

Placement is one thing I do not have a lot of knowledge about since I am a first year first semester student myself right now but there are a lot of students in BTECH CSE, which would make the placement procedure difficult for them I believe

Remarks:

The department has a very bad management. The head of the department is one of the worst teachers in the department. She is not at all co-operative and supporting. The department never encourages or appreciate the efforts of the students. They in fact give all the appreciation and credit to the students by whom no work is done. The department badly needs a new HOD and some good male teachers instead of the existing biased and egoistic female teachers
