Course Curriculum Overview :
The curriculum includes some real-life subjects like DSA,Advance DSA,OOPs, which will help in getting placement, be it on campus or off campus, and it also covers all the topics for the GATE exam perspective. The improvement I can think of is to reduce the less useful subjects like physics and chemistry for computer-related branches . We have one mid sems and one end sem per semester and sessionals/labs of 15 marks before these exams
Placement Experience :
We become eligible for placement from 7th semester onwards, there are many companies that come for placements for all the branches but the highest packages are bagged by computer-related branches usually the highest package is around 40 lakhs and avg package is 8 lakh for computer engineering, but mostly students get placed at around 7LPA
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
We have to pay tuition fee and semester fee for 8 sem ie 4 yrs and for one year, you can expect a fee of 4.5 lakh rupees. Scholarships are given to 1st year students based on the JEE score and from 2nd year it is given on basis of CGPA . For computer-related branches, the scholarship cutoff goes around 9 CGPA and the amount is 1.5lakh and a higher CGPA can even land you a 100% scholarship
Campus Life :
We have three major events in Thapar: URJA our sports fest, TFF which is the food fest and our main fest SAT .For all three events we have great sponsors and performances by very big renowned artists and live bands
Hostel Facilities :
Hostels are very good in Thapar where we are provided with AC rooms, usually 2 seater and in 4th year you can get one seater as well .Food quality is decent I wont say they are best but better than other colleges mess and hostels are allotted on the basis of CGPA ,a CGPA of 8.5 will land u a hostel of your choice .And if you are looking for PGs outside the campus they are available too
Admission :
Regarding the admission process for my BTech, eligibility required appeared in the Grade 12th and have given the JEE Mains exam. I found the application form of Thapar University's official website and learned about fees through updates on College Dunia. Though I didn't avail any reservations, there are reserved seats for Kashmiri students and a 50% Punjab quota. Interestingly, during my time there have been no entrance exams. Admission is solely based on Grade 12th marks and JEE scores. However, I believe there should be less reservation for Punjab students to ensure equitable opportunities. In essence, the process was straightforward
