Entrance Preview :
I applied to MCC because of its good reputation and college rating.MCC is a well-known college in India and is one of the top-rated b schools in India. So it was a no-brainer that I would apply for my masters in this college considering I am a resident of Bangalore.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course curriculum is quite extensive with a lot of emphases given on all-round development over academics only. There is an internship after every semester and also the opportunity for dual specialization. Classes are held from Monday to Saturday.
Internships Opportunities :
Yes. The internship varies every semester. Not all are paid. They range from industry visits to working with NGO's and so on.
Placement Experience :
Being in my 1st year I have not come across the placement aspect but from what I have heard from my seniors it seems pretty good. There is a dedicated placement cell where interested candidates need to enroll. One must visit the placement cell for more information.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
Its is feasible. The entire fee structure for my course i,e. M.COM totals up to about 140000 for the two years with Rs 75,100 being the fees for the first year and Rs 65,200 being the fees for the second year.The first year fees have to be submitted on the day of the selection.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
I haven't availed any loan facility. But there are scholarships granted to deserving candidates under various schemes.
Campus Life :
Campus life is fun. Since it is an all-girls college, gender ratio doesn't come into play. Mount Carmel College has an excellent stadium with a well-laid track located at a walkable distance from the main campus. On the campus, there is a basketball and throw ball court. For multimedia-based instructional approaches, the college has several AV rooms that signal the digital age where exciting, challenging novel concepts and possibilities are explored.
Alumni/Alumna :
Yes, they are helpful. The seniors guide us through all the various activities and act as mentors and friends.
Exam Structure :
Final exams are conducted after every semester with 70 marks attributed to the written exam and 30 marks consisting of CIA for core subjects and 30 marks attributed to the written exam and 20 marks consisting of CIA for allied courses. Additionally, there are also some credit courses every semester.
Admission :
The admission process was fairly simple. I applied on the college website and was called upon a specific date for the personal interview. My personal interview was conducted by Ramesh sir the PG dean. Since i satisfied the admission eligibility i was granted admission.
Faculty :
The faculty of the college is very good. My teachers are highly experienced in their respective fields and impart their knowledge on us in a very cooperative manner. There are also many visiting faculties that frequent our college on different occasions.
