- PPT teaching method - I know its very common but it should be decreased to some extent.
- Lesser technical opportunities like coding clubs or college ambassadors
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course is quite easy for someone who has already studied some part of computer science in higher studies. For those who are new to computer science, trust me the curriculum is such that you can switch from a non I.T background real smooth. I didn't want to leave maths as a subject and hence I decided to take this course, for those who have maths phobia can also easily get through this degree with flying colors. BCA course almost prepares you to compete with a B.Tech graduate if you pursue it with full dedication. It will yeild you a lot of knowledge and experience in various feilds of I.T and real world. The exams take place semester wise i.e twice a year and there are two internal exams every year to keep you on track with the course. The PPT teaching method is very common alike other colleges but your goal should be utilising three years in a way that you get to learn the course in an advance manner on your own. you need to stay active and never miss any opportunity.
Internships Opportunities :
I don't remember getting internship opportunities during my time. People used to apply on their own and some used to work during college too. You can always seek guidance and I have heard of the new placement co-ordinator getting charge and making improvements in this.
Placement Experience :
You do get campus placements, it depends on you whether you actively participate or not. My friends sat in campus placements and they got placements from college. Service based companies had major inlcination that time like wipro, tcs, delloite etc.You should join if you get placed and simultaneously continue with your masters.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fees structure is very affordable, if you score more than 75% every semester you get rupees 4500 scholarship i.e almost 25% of your fees and trust me it is very easy to crack this. There is also scholarship for those who score 60% above its's abot 2000 or 2500 roughly. This is a plus point. There are also scholarships for OBC /SC/ST. You do get campus placements, during my batch we had highest package of 4.5lpa which is fair. The Return on investment is quite a lot. Placement opportunities for BBA and BCA are good. Don't leave them saying that's not enough as a fresher you will regret it later.
Campus Life :
There is constant improvement taking place. I must tell you, the campus life can't be measured with the size of campus. SVIM has the best set of people who you won't regret being friends with and you will get a lot of opportnuities to showcase your talent. There are annual fests to socialise and get involved in, fests are a lot of fun. The library is huge, you will find all the subjectorial books which will help you academically for the syllabus as well as outside the syllabus. There are books to prepare for the placements and competitive exams. You will not find more sweet and humble teachers outside this premises, teachers are very well mannered and polite. We had synergy annual fest at our times, we also had a live concert etc. Labs work fine, there are no macbooks but you can become a great programmer if you utilise efficiently.
Admission :
Shri Vaishnav Institute of Management is a college that targets to overall development of the college itself and every individual who is a part of it. The admission process is quite easy. There is a solid team of members who guide you through each and every step while proceeding for admission. For taking admission in BCA, one needs to have maths as one of the subjects during 12th grade. You can simply grab the admission form from the campus itself or you can apply to this college through mpdt. There are chances that you get influenced to take BCA while you go to take admission for BBA but that's upon you. You must have a firm decision in prior.
