Course Curriculum Overview :

IM Calcutta's MBA: It's like scaling Everest for business badasses. Case studies, pro professors with real-world cred, build your biz foundation, then specialize. Think Goldman Sachs meets Woodstock. Exams? Intense, but the support's there. Network? A who's who of industry titans. Jobs? Think corner offices with killer views. Ready to crush it? Check their website, hit the webinars, chat with students. Then, conquer your MBA dreams! P.S. It's worth the climb.

Internships Opportunities :

The Career Developement and Placement office provides more than enough oppotunities for summer internships ranging from private equity firms to leadership programs. I bagged a marketing internship. The summer internship preparations and selection process is very rigorous.

Placement Experience :

IIM Calcutta placements are like a rocket launch - soaring high and setting new records! 100% placement for the 2023 batch is just the beginning. Ready to blast off? From Day 1: Prep starts in your first semester with internships and workshops. By year 2, you're ready for liftoff at the main placement season. Image of IIM Calcutta students celebrating placementsOpens in a new window Who wants you? Big names like McKinsey, Goldman Sachs, Amazon, Flipkart, Microsoft, and more line up to recruit from IIM C. Think diverse opportunities across all industries. Package power: The highest international offer touched a cool INR 94.82 LPA, while the domestic record hit a sky-high INR 1.15 crore! The average salary? A sweet INR 35.07 LPA. IIM C is more than just placements, it's a launchpad for personal and professional growth. Come for the stellar career prospects, stay for the vibrant community and life-changing experiences.

Fees and Financial Aid :

IIM Calcutta boasts a top-notch MBA program, but the sticker price can make your wallet wince. The total tuition for the two-year course currently hovers around 25 lakhs (ouch!). But before you cry foul, let's explore the hidden gems: IIMC offers a range of scholarships for academic excellence, covering partial to full tuition fees. Think B.P. Poddar Scholarship for toppers or the India Carbon Scholarship for sustainability crusaders. Need-based: Financial aid like grants and loans are available for students demonstrating financial hardship. No shame in the game! External Sponsorships: Many external organizations offer scholarships for specific groups like women or rural students. Research pays off!

Campus Life :

Forget just books at IIM C's Joka campus! It's a social smorgasbord. Bond with your batchmates over chai, dance it out at Diwali celebrations or join the Dramatics Club. Clubs? Finance to film, there's one for every passion. Guest lectures from industry titans? Heck yeah! Modern classrooms, green spaces, and delicious food fuel your day. It's a roller coaster, but with lifelong friends by your side. IIM C, buckle up!

Hostel Facilities :

The Big Four: Ramanujan Hostel (co-ed with separate wings), Tagore Hostel & Annexe (co-ed), White Hostel (male), and New Hostel (male). These are on campus, boast spacious rooms with balconies, and have common areas for chilling and studying. Think friendly vibes and late-night study sessions! 2. Lake View Hostel: The newest kid on the block, offering modern amenities and a bit more distance from the academic hub (15-minute walk). Think peace and quiet for focused study sessions.

Admission :

In case of MBA at IIMs, each IIM has a different criteria for themselves with respect to different courses. One requires to hold a bachelor's degree or equivalent with 50% marks in graduation, there's no particular cap for 10th and 12th marks but points are awarded according to criteria laid at mba admission page of IIM C. Application form is sent via mail upon eligiblity check (CAT Score and other factors such as kind of degree). Post application, a candidate may or may not recieve a interview call (different IIMs prefer pre interview WAT or GD) depending on cutoff laid down by the institute. On clearing the the interview, the selected candidate will recieve an offer letter both via physical and electronic mail. Voila, you're done, rest of the formalities will be over with once you reach the campus.

Interview Experience :

There was a WAT before the interview. The topics given can be case based or just globe topics. I had been given the topic of "Wet markets are the source of diseases. Agree or disagree?". We were given 30 minutes to write. WAT constitutes of 8% of total score, therefore don't worry about it too much. You've aced VARC so its going to be cakewalk.

Placement Experience:

We were a post COVID batch. So placement was quite slow. Our placements started from 3rd semester itself but salaries weren't good as the COVID effect was still there. But still we received placement assistance even after our classes got over and that's how I got my placement. It was more than 90% in my batch and I worked for 2 years after getting placed.
