  • There are times when the convenors can hound over the overall functioning of the society making them limit their potential.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The faculty members, at least the ones that had been teaching for a long while were and are amazing and they have been very understanding with valid reasons for setbacks/delays in assignments or tests as well. As for term exams, there has been a belief circling about the unfair checking of papers wherein colleges which are ranked higher undergo stricter checking while colleges which are ranked lower undergo more lenient checking. I hope there is a committee that can look into this issue and ensure fair checking for all irrespective of college ranking or course

Internships Opportunities :

I personally did not grab onto the opportunity but my friend recieved an internship offer from Zeetv and students can always reach out to professors for a joint project or aid in their project as well.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The feees for the English Department of Miranda House are between 13000 to 14000 which seems doable in my opinion, but I come from a Middle class family so it might defer. As for scholarship, I did not avail any since I don't come under the income bracket and as for placements/jobs on campus, I myself haven't availed those facilities or got any such jobs but I know one or two friends who have from the fests and stands set up by the Placement Cell.

Campus Life :

The fest months in Miranda usually begin from end of January to Middle of March. With the Annual Fest, Tempest happening in the middle around February. There is an abundance of books in the library and the projectors are working in most of the classrooms or atleast in the classrooms that I have been having my classes in. The main issue is the air conditioning in the summers which till now I have experienced only one class had a proper functioning AC (in the classes that I attended only of course there maybe other classes with functioning ACs but I have not been in those). The sports equipment is mostly for the sports department but others students can use them with permission and western and indian music choir along with the dramatics society are all very active and thriving. As for a social/cultural group there is the North East society for northeast students and students interested in the northeast

Admission :

Since we were the last batch before the implementation of NEP, our admission was based on our board's results. under which I applied to Miranda House along with my ST reservation and I also applied under ECA for creative writing. Ultimately I got admitted and now here I am.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I've chosen this course according to my needs and choices... It offers us with 4 additional subjects which I'd say are valuable in terms of knowledge.. Subjects like environment science, ethics and culture etc prepares us for real world applications of further academic pursuits as my goal is upsc and there's a topic called ethics and culture Teaching can be improved if they provided us with digital boards as porta cabins do not have any smart boards Frequency of exam is ok neither too exaggerated and nor too low

Placement Experience:

We will have campus placement with Amazon company only and it comes in our 5th semester with a very attractive package around 4.6 lack per annum. There is no percentage barrier to get hired, as it is completely based on our interview performance. In case if we haven't got campus placement, we have many other opportunities in co-operating sectors, translation field, tourism field, govt embassy, etc. So opportunities are there for this course.

Remarks:

CIC is busy and fast moving. Unlike most other colleges, where in you would have a fixed schedule for your day and a planned return to your home, CIC will keep surprising you each day. This will end up being your journey towards self exploration, but only if you make the most of everything it has to offer.

Remarks:

About the college, it is a decent college and the students here are nice. The seniors are supportive and we have many societies one can join for co-curricular stuff. The college follows anti-ragging policy and thus ragging is prohibited. The teachers are well experienced and trained apart a few. The infrastructure of the building is decent and the classroom is spacious too. They are just like one has in their schools. We have a great auditorium in which the Air conditioner rarely works. The canteen is great too. The ground is good and regularly maintained. The library has good seating capacity as well as is air-conditioned.

Remarks:

WiFi is terrible and limited. You only get 15 GB per month. It troubles while connecting to it. It connects and disconnects frequently. It's better to have your own data pack. System of Jamia is poor. Staffs of the Examination Controller are lazy, slow and commit a lot of mistakes due to which many students suffer.
