Remarks :
The college is good and is very helpful. They encourage us to take part in debates, book reviews and tell us to read a lot of management books. They encourage us to read ,speak ,get contacts and gain information from all sources like magazines,Economic times etc.Overall this college is good if you are willing to work hard and a lot more enjoyable if you get good friends.
Entrance Preview :
I have written both KMAT as well as PGCET exam.In KMAT I scored 80 out of 120 and in PGCET I got a ranking of 726.I opted for this college since my friend studied in Aakar which was a branch of Acharya. She recommended the college because of the good environment for students, good faculty as well as the infrastructure.I also was influenced to join this college because of the good reviews it has which is true. Also I wanted to do MBA from a B-school and Acharya is one of the best B-schools.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Since I am from a BSc background I found the syllabus a little bit difficult. But whatever is taught in the courses are relevant and up to date with the current business scenario. Some teachers give more of practical knowledge which is a lot of help. Some subjects are too much of theory.
Internships Opportunities :
Internship is an important part of the college and is compulsory. Our college helps us get internships in good companies.Paid or unpaid internships depends on the company. We get both so we gain money and experience or if not atleast experience which is important for placements.
Placement Experience :
Placements are an important reason for joining this college. There are very good companies coming for placements especially for marketing.JP Morgan,Goldman Sachs,Axis bank,Deloitte and many other leading companies are there. The average package starts at 2-3 lakhs per annum. The highest package goes upto 10 lakhs per annum.
College Events :
First we have freshers party for welcoming the freshers,We have a major business fest which is BIZOMANIA. It is a huge fest and students from many other colleges participate. There is business quiz, best manager, designing a business model, armageddon and many other events testing your physical and mental fitness.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
The fees for management quota students is around 6-7 lakhs for both the years. If you get in through PGCET it is even more lesser. It is around 3 or 4 lakhs for both the years and the installments are also easily payable.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Loan facilities are offered by the college. Scholarships are also available for PGCET students who have scored well and if their income is less.
Campus Life :
The extra curricular activities held in this college are good. There are many clubs like the finanace club, marketing club and even the filmian club where they show movies and invite celebrities. The campus infrastructure is very good and the campus is very green with a lot of plants and scenic places. There is no restrictions between the genders.
Hostel Facilities :
I do not stay in the hostel or PG. But I have heard that the hostel is good but food is a bit of a problem. PG's are available very close to the college and hotels, atm, medical stores and other facilities are also closeby. The cost of PG is around 6K-7K per month.
Alumni/Alumna :
Seniors are very sweet and helpful but only a few of them. They give a lot of suggestions and recommendations regarding internship companies, placements etc.
Exam Structure :
We do have assignments, case studies, internals and final exams and all of these are a bit stressful. However if we study for internals it is very useful for the main exams since many important questions are already discussed in the class.Enough time is not there for some subjects where there is a lengthy paper
Admission :
I started checking about Acharya even before PGCET announced the list of colleges. While contacting the college for more details regarding the admission procedure, the administrative department were very helpful and answered all my questions patiently. The admission procedure was relatively quick atleast for me and the staff were patient and polite.
Faculty :
Most of the staff at ABBS are very good and have a strong hold on the subjects they teach. They try to simplify the subjects and make it more understandable.A few teachers are especially good by giving us a lot of industry exposure. Certain subjects, though, could be taught better.
