JSS PROS AND CONS

Dislikes

  • The campus life here is next to negligible.
  • No freedom to go about outside, only 2 days allocated per b.pharm year
+ 1 More

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course curriculum is easy and standard according to the Indian pharmacopeia. The teachers are good in their respective fields. It is advisable to do self-study as the exams will be very hard if you just rely on faculty teaching.

Placement Experience :

Last year students were eligible for placements. Good companies like Bharat Petroleum and other companies visit here but it is advisable not to get placements as the salary is very low. It's advisable for b.pharm students to go into m.pharm into a different college.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fee structure is per semester fees and the college gives a Tata scholarship which is eligible to everyone. The requirements are that you get 8.5 cgpa or 80 percent and above. There is no job stipend for b.pharm. but for m.pharm there is.

Campus Life :

There is literally no college life that you expect from movies. The annual fest is not there. The sports ground on campus is very small not very big. Books and journals are available readily. Amenities are a desk chair and projector.

Hostel Facilities :

The hostel is small. 4 people have to stay in one room. Outside food isn't allowed in. There are only 2 days we can go outside. Meals are provided regularly and the taste is mediocre. Registration is easy.

Admission :

Admission involves writing the college personal exam called JSSCET. You can start the admission process by talking to their admission officials and you can fill the form out on their website. You can select from their two campuses, one in Ooty and one in Mysore.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Pharmacy is a promising field offering research opportunities and other jobs when trained properly. The student: staff ratio is 10:1. All the faculties are postgraduates with a handful of experienced Ph.D. professionals with industrial exposure and contacts. Their teaching will be reasonable and more self-study is required. Exams were twice a year usually in the months of march and October.
