Course Curriculum Overview :
Bachelor of Physiotherapy is a 4.5 years professional course, and after completing this 4 years of education and 6 months of compulsory internship we become a professional physiotherapist. And this course has huge scope in India as well as abroad. The faculty-student ratio is very bad in our college there are more than 350 students in one class and limited facilities are present which becomes so challenging for faculties to teach us. Although faculties are highly qualified and know how to handle such huge batches at a time...they make sure to clear doubts if we ask them and are very supportive. Exams are conducted semester-wise and students have to study at least a month before exams to gain good marks, exams are of moderate level but the passing percentage is low because of lots of debarred students due to a shortage of 75% attendance.
Internships Opportunities :
We have to do 6 months of compulsory unpaid internship only at NIMS hospital and after that only we can get placement. Other hospitals in Jaipur like Max, and Eva also provide internships. During the internship, we are instructed to assist the senior physiotherapist and help in the successful completion of treatment.
Placement Experience :
Campus placement starts after the completion of 6 months of compulsory internship, in our field placement is based on skills and network so we have to work really well on our hands skills and communication skills. In previous batches, 30% of students are placed in NIMS hospitals while others got their placement in nearby hospitals and clinics, and also some seniors are doing masters. The highest package is around 3.5 LPA while the average package is around 2.2 LPA. Almost 60% of students got their placement and others are either doing higher studies or started their own clinical setup. I have planned to do a master's degree after the completion of BPT as there is no growth without a master's.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
There are so fixed fee hike policies but yes they can increase fees whenever they want, generally, they increase it by 10k-20k. There are merit-based scholarships available for meritorious students who have scored more than 75% marks in their 12th boards, they can get scholarships from 50% to 100% in their 1st-year tuition fees, depending on the marks.
Campus Life :
NIMS UNIVERSITY'S biggest event of the annual sports competition 'SPARDHA' is organised every year during March and April and also there are various fests and events organised by the university throughout the year. The university campus has one huge reading hall and every department has its own library along with that there is a central library which has a great collection of books with a huge reading hall and computer and wifi facilities for students. Classrooms and labs are well-equipped with projectors, smartboards and all the necessary equipment. There are a few separate social groups for sports, cultural activities, and religious gatherings, which are run by students.
Hostel Facilities :
Hostel rooms have options for 4/3/2/1 seater arrangement which starts from 80k per annum and goes upto 3lac per annum and there are seperate cupboards for each person and a attached washroom, hostel fees includes mess and laundary services. The mess food is nutritious and taste is okay,we have variety of food items for the whole month. Hostel registration process is easy, just have to do few paper works but allotment is based on the subject to availability. The hostel is not very affordable option here most of the students prefer PGs as they are more cheaper than hostel. There are alot of PGs nearby with mess facilities, one can easily find it around campus.
Admission :
In Bachelor's of Physiotherapy, the eligibility criteria are just that a candidate should have passed class 12th boards with 50% or above marks in with main subject PCB. The application form is available on this university's website from March to October and the fee for the application form is around 800 INR. There are no reservation benefits available at the university. At the time of admission, they don't tell you the actual strength of class and approved seats and this is a big issue which should be resolved.
