Journey from BDS to MDS (8 years) at CDSH.

Dislikes

  • High fee structure and no scholarships for us.
  • College hours i.e. timing is quite long...

Course Curriculum Overview :

I chose this college because I have been a part of this college since my UG, and I m very satisfied with the curriculum, academics, pre-clinics, and clinics of CDSH. In PG each one of us gets individual attention from faculties to make us the best in our streams. Talking about faculties, the college has highly qualified mentors for us with proficient clinical experience. For us, it is always very inspiring to interact and learn from the experts. Our curriculum does not have the concept of term exams. In MDS, we have 1 basic sciences exam in 1st year and then there's the final exam in 3rd year. Well, it is tough to get through the exams as it should be.

Internships Opportunities :

Yes, colleges provide a one-year internship after BDS for the experience and skill development of students as it is compulsory in the BDS curriculum. I.e. four-year academics and one-year internship, after which students get their graduation degree.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fee structure is a little sensitive, but they provide quality education, student support, great clinical exposure, and all the latest technologies and materials required for our betterment. I think it might be considered a decent one. As the one pursuing MDS, it would have been great if we got some scholarship opportunities from the government, for financial support.

Campus Life :

Campus Life is cool. College keeps conducting workshops and creating opportunities for us through different competitions and does motivate us to high participation. The college library has all the standard national and international books (best of my knowledge) also there's a separate department library for us in the department of orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics. Cashindore, cdshconfession are some social accounts on Instagram. college of dental science and Hospital has its official website.

Admission :

U have to attempt the NEET MDS exam, after scoring the required marks and clearing at least the minimum cutoff, u r eligible for the counseling process. All the details are available on the website, we have to follow it thoroughly. The application form for the same is on the website. In my case, I didn't get any reservation benefits. I really wish I could. After the NEET exam, it took almost 4 months for the start of counseling, this was a very stressful period for all of us. So the improvement I want to see is in the schedule of counseling, the time gap between the NEET result and starting of counseling sessions must be less for the sake of better mental health of students and utilization of doctor's time.

Course Curriculum Overview:

At that time as I got the opportunity BDS became my choice, and the faculty-student ratio is pretty good. All the facilities (teaching and nonteaching) are well-qualified. All the professors are MDS. Term exams were conducted thrice a year and we had to study well to pass the exam.

Remarks:

College is situated outside the city.it is generally calm all around here but obvious we are unable to avail all the services that might be possible if it was in the city, like good food, malls, essential items etc

Placement Experience:

First of all one year internship is provided to the students after the complete their mds course. After the completion of your internship you have to go through on campus interviews to gain good employment opportunities. Mostly all of the students get employed after passing out college.

Placement Experience:

There is no placement as it's a dental college, and since it's a part of medical college according to DCI, as doctors you donot have a placement according to the medical board. However the college provides good internships with a stipend of Rs 10,000 per month for one year. We can also work as assistants and prepare for PG side by side. The internship experience is great and we get hands on experience on every aspect and are provided with the required tools and technology too.
