Remarks :

The management is restrictive and prevent intermingling of male and female students. It insists on discipline on the part of students and this is reflected in the strict dress codes and numerous rules by which the student has to abide. It also encourages students to practice yoga and meditation. Only vegetarian food is provided in the mess. The central library of the institution has a vast expanse of medical books and journals. The institution is well connected by road and rail. It is also a venue to many important medical conferences, headed by eminent scientists, researchers and doctors.

Entrance Preview :

The entrance examination I took was NEET. I scored 374. Medicine was what I wanted to do right from when I was a child. The humanitarian aspect of the medical profession drew me towards this course.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course aims at providing a generation of highly qualified physicians . The scope for research in this institute is very high as it has the most Modern equipment and infrastructure, with highly skilled faulty. The course is practical oriented and the students are taught the skills necessary to impart quality health care.

Internships Opportunities :

The college provides one year internship program for hands on training in the view of minimizing errors on the part of doctors. The spend is between Rs.5000 and Rs.10000. Students do their internship in Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Center.

Placement Experience :

Doctors get jobs in hospitals across the country after they receive the license to practice medicine. Some set up their own clinics while others are drafted into rural health care programs by the government. Doctors earn anywhere around one to ten lakh per month based on their specialty and sector of work.

College Events :

The arts fest is conducted in October. It a an inter-department event and brings out the extracurricular talents if the students. The sports fest is conducted in January and both track and field events and indoor events are conducted. Students are also taken to field visits. Festivals and events relevant to the medical field are celebrated. Blood donation camps, disaster relief and awareness camps are also held. The events are open to all students of the institution.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The fee structure is expensive,Amrita being a private medical college.M.B.B.S. Students are required to shell out a fee of Rs.11 lakh, which includes hostel and mess fee. Since the institution is fully residential, all students are required to pay this amount.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

To my knowledge, there are no scholarships or loan facilities given by the management to the students

Campus Life :

The campus life is okay but pretty tiresome due to the hectic schedule and high work load. Gender ratio is about 3: 2 in favour if girls. Students from all parts of the country,NRIs and a few foreign nationals study here. The management and students are very tolerant to all types of diversities, with no issues on that front.

Hostel Facilities :

The rooms are spacious with boys having two-sharing rooms and girls, the-sharing rooms. The toilets are cleaned everyday to ensure that it doesn't stink. Electricity and water is provided round the clock due to solar panels and water purifiers . Taste of food is fairly good.

Alumni/Alumna :

The alumni who continue for PG here, and the seniors are very helpful and there is no ragging our bullying. Seniors aid the juniors in studies.

Exam Structure :

Daily labs in the first year, followed by clinical posting in the rest of the years are a feature of this course. Examinations are conducted regularly for internal assessment and the university examination is conducted at the end of every semester. The day is pretty much hectic and the work load is high, but students are left with a feeling of satisfaction when they understand the functioning of the human body and the ways to keep it healthy.

Admission :

The application form was obtained from the institute's website. Only candidates who had cleared NEET were eligible to apply for the course. Students had to attend an interview. The administration was good and the admission process was conducted in a smooth and orderly manner.

Faculty :

The faculty of the MBBS course at Amrita School Of Medicine is highly skilled and qualified. Post Graduate Doctors are entrusted the task of training young minds for the medical profession. They teach in such a manner that the subject us clear to the student. The use of power points and animations by the teachers aid in making students understand the subject.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is too heavy and there is lot to learn . Since it is based on helping people I chose this course. And the curriculum is set in such away that we were trained to face health problems in real world in real time. The final year time duration can be increased since there are 6 subjects which are too hard. There will be 3 internal assessment in which total of no less 40 percent should be scored in both theory and practical only then you will be permitted to write the University Exams.

Our curriculum is mainly focussing on academics . There is also sports and arts including competition but they are not supporting the students. The question paper difficulty is of moderate type and can pass.

Course Curriculum Overview:

We were brought into the new CBME curriculum. Even the faculty finds it hard to comply with as it is a new system. There are a lot of small group discussions and self directed learning programmes that consider the teacher as just a facilitator and students are meant to learn with the guidance of the facilitator.

It is very esteemed profession and we have the lives of people in our hands. Curriculum very well prepares us for real world applications if we put effort from our side too. Faculties need to be more student friendly though.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Why MBBS because it has been my dream since of I was kid and I’m glad that I made it this far. Each batch in my college have 250 students and for every 25 students one faculty would be given as mentor, whom we can approach for any of queries. Apart from that practical and clinical postings are really fascinating. We would have year exams as to qualify each year, and a few internal exams every 2-3 months. And these exams I wouldn’t put it too tough that we have to give our 100% of time for only studies but nor too easy. If we put a moderate effort for studies we are soo good to go.
