Remarks :
I guess it was overall a nice college experience I had.
Entrance Preview :
There was no entrance exam to get into this college. The admission was based on the cutoff of your 12th marks in the PCM. I got 91% in the PCM. The best college for the Computer Science (Hons.) course in the Delhi University is Hansraj College and their cutoff was 91.3% in the OBC category so I left out by 1 mark and the second best college I heard was Deen Dayal Upadhyaya. That's why I took admission in this college.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course was pretty good. It included so many important subjects of the computer science that helped in the pursuing the masters further in the same field and could also help in the getting the job in the field. There were also practical labs so one could have the practical knowledge too with the theoretical knowledge.
Internships Opportunities :
There was no internship provided by the college that I know of. But it's always upto the students to look for the internships and get the approval or recommendations by the HOD or the principle of the college of required.
Placement Experience :
Placement is satisfactory for what could be for the B.Sc. students. Some companies like Wipro, Tech Mahindra comes to the college and center placement cell of the Delhi University where any DU student can go and can sit for the company. Student just need to apply for the center placement pass to be able to sit for the companies which comes there.
College Events :
No so many events were there. But a one cultural fest was held every year named Kalrav. It was a nice event where everyone can enjoy the fun games thoughout the day and can shake their body in the evening with the DJ on the floor. Other than that other course also organize some events where the people can have fun.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
Fee structure is pretty feasible. It's around 24k per year but for course other than Computer Science Hons., it was around 8-9k which was pretty less than what we had to pay. But still it was pretty less than what students have to pay in other colleges.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Yes. It provides a scholarship for the students who has financial problems. It's about 7-9k per year.
Campus Life :
Extracurricular was okay. There were sports competitions every year. There were workshops held too frequently like Robotics, Networking, etc. No gender discrimination I had seen till I was there. College elections were also held every year to decide the positions for the Students Union of the college.
Hostel Facilities :
There were no hostels provided by the college/University for the undergraduates. Students have to live all by themselves by renting the apartments or PGs which was a little expensive what could have been so much less if been provided the hostels. This was one thing we felt the university needs to look into.
Alumni/Alumna :
Yes, there is a alumini network for our course. We have a group on facebook where we can make plans for the alumini meet or any events we want to organize together.
Exam Structure :
The day was well balanced. The mixture of classes and labs was pretty good. We had practical exams before the main exams so that we could had the main exams with the free minds. And there were pretty good gaps within the exams as well. We had enough time to prepare ourselves for the exams.
Admission :
I filled in the online application for the college and then I waited till the cutoff came. I checked for the cutoff and I cleared it. So I went to the college and submitted all the necessary documents like 10th,12th Marksheets and certificates, OBC certificate, TC,etc. That's it.
Faculty :
The faculty of my college was also good in the computer science field. There were good teachers who taught pretty well and thorough. They had deep knowledge about the subjects they taught and were helpful in the getting the problem solved for the students pretty well.
