Remarks :

The only complaint I would have is the systematic procedure follow up.The college needs to follow a particular calendar when it comes to decision about examination dates, holidays as well as deadlines.

Entrance Preview :

I got admission in this course through my class 12th CBSE board examination scores.Although my scores allowed me to choose between medical and dental without any quota,I opted for dentistry since I had always wanted to become a dentist.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course has extremely high scope and is one of the most well paid jobs in the world. The scope internationally is exceptionally high and bring a health professional there is respect as well as job satisfaction.Expertise in the field guarantees independent clinical practise.

Internships Opportunities :

The college does provide internship, and I am currently an intern.Internship is the best period for students to not only get experience, but also see new patients. They have the best experience outside college too after the very arduous final year of dentistry. There is no stipend however.

Placement Experience :

Dental and medical students don't have any placements. However job opportunities are booming both in and out of the country.Students usually work under other dentists after completing the degree or often successfully run their own clinic.Dentists gain experience in this process.

College Events :

The events celebrated in the college includes various conferences held by the different departments as well as the annual cultural fest Tandaav, hosted by the current intern batch. It is a 3 day fest filled with fun and frolic and various other dental colleges in the city is a part of the festivities.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The fee structure is on the higher end being 4 lakhs/ annum when I joined, that is 16 lakhs for 4 years .Internship is unpaid. There is now an increment in the fee structure. However lot of students study under merit and scholarship, for international students the fees is a little higher and certain students are asked to pay the quota amount too.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Various scholarships based on needs as well as merit is given by the college. One of my classmate studied under scholarship as he scored high in the SRM entrance exam.Various loans are offered by banks across the country.

Campus Life :

Campus life is extremely good as students get to interact with other students of other streams. There are various opportunities of cultural programs and clubs .Students are from different parts of the country as well as internationally.African students are very high in number and this probably is because of the job guarantee offered after degree. There are no discrimination seen in the campus or class based on gender or ethnicity. It is like a cultural playground, I am immensely satisfied with my choice.

Hostel Facilities :

The hostel provided by the college is shared either by 2 or 3 or even single sharing. The campus consists of an international hostel too,for men and women ,those who are in need of Ac facilities. The rooms are spacious with various amenities and Indian food served in the mess which is actually not bad.It is wholesome. The flats available around are also affordable starting from 5k/ month to 10k,depending on the number of students sharing.

Alumni/Alumna :

The alumni network is pretty strong and I have always received endless help from my seniors, whether it is in college or outside.Whether it is for study related doubts or other,my seniors have always come ahead and helped me out.

Exam Structure :

The examination structure include two internal assessment in a year and a final exam in the year end along with a practical exam and viva.Even though it may be daunting, once completed, the satisfaction is beyond words. The college proudly maintains it's top notch labs with state of the art instruments.Even though at the end of the day we are tired, the satisfaction of completing the course successfully is beyond words.

Admission :

I happened to hear about SRMKDC from my father and we flew from Kolkata to Chennai to start the admission procedure.Since I hadn't written any entrance examination,I was a little doubtful about the admission process. However, securing good marks in 12th helped me and on filling up a couple of forms and deciding on the course,my seat was confirmed in SRMKDC.

Faculty :

The faculty was extremely cooperative from the first year of college.Being under a University,we get to meet various students from various branches. The professors are not only good at their work, they are very good teachers and are well established in their field.Research has various scopes in the college, including publishing various papers and articles,to thesis done by the post graduates.

The dental prosthesis making and the work by itself is very exciting... the theory part is also vey interesting and helps us study more. I wish there would be more practical earning in the theory park like when studying about an instrument.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose the course on the basis of handwork and aesthetic purposes. But I mainly chose the degree due to its flexibility and the ability to focus on other hobbies too. The curriculum mainly revolves around communication and handwork. It helps one to gain the courage to approach people but also teaches patience to deal with hardships. Improvements : Tests can be made more of mcq forms and teaching can be more improved . It still is like a conservative teaching. Example : Involve more case study based questions. Frequency of exams is very decent and it doesn't cause much of a stress . But the pattern of exam is not good

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the course curriculum a 8/10 for sure. The curriculum definitely prepares you for the real world, you'll have four years of study and you'll cover few medical subjects too. The timing of the exams will be 3 hrs and it is not difficult.
