When opting for MBA in Finance, should I consider IFMR as a preferable option

Remarks :

Initially, applicants need to have a cat score greater than the 80 percentile. Then they need to apply through the college website and they will get GD/PI call if they are shortlisted. Once they clear the GD/PI process they will get admission. The overall process was smooth and hassle-free.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The finance faculties of IFMR are one of the best in the nation today. The batch strength is average and placements are decent, which made me choose this college. A strict curriculum which makes us ready for the industry and hands-on experience on various applications make the students crack the best companies during placements. Regular exams, tests, and presentations keep students busy and competitive. They will have trimesters where relative grading would be there.

Internships Opportunities :

All students get internships from campus and mostly they are paid ones. Students get roles in market research, digital marketing, SAP consultant, Business analyst, financial analyst and many more. The two months of internship is a good opportunity to grab the knowledge and make themselves industry-ready.

Placement Experience :

Students will be able to sit for exams during the 4th trimester. Companies like JPMC, Deloitte, Crisil, Accenture, Barclays, HCL, Wells Fargo, Citi visit the campus. Around 50-60 companies visit the campus with various roles. The highest package was offered by the World Bank which was 17.4. Average package is around 8-9Lpa. All the students get placed on the campus.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fees are moderate compared to other MBA colleges. Scholarships are given to the top performers of the batch. Internships are paid and everyone gets placed on the campus. Though each year the college fraternity restructures the fee structure and a hike is seen.

Campus Life :

Life at the campus was great. Every now and then there would be events. Cultural events, quizzes, fests, sports events keep students charged up post their studies. The classrooms are pretty good and well equipped. There are facilities for different indoor and outdoor sports activities. There are numerous clubs and committees which students can join based on their area of interest.

Hostel Facilities :

Hostel rooms are neat. Twin sharing facilities are available. Students will have their own bed, almirah, study table and bookshelf inside the room. Rooms also have ac and geyser and a 24*7 water supply. Students are mandated to stay in the campus hostel. The hostel food is also moderate and the menu keeps on changing to overcome boredom. As the college is in the southern part of the country hence there is a bit of inclination of the menu towards the southern side.

Interview Experience :

Students have to go through GD and PI. There is also a writing ability test taken. Topics are related to the banking & financial sector, and current topics. The interview is majorly based on previous work experience, and knowledge of banking and the financial sector and some scenario-based questions are also asked. Focus on your CV and make sure you are able to justify and explain all points mentioned in it.

Placement Experience:

The placement process is rolling in nature that kind of hectic with the ongoing academic curriculum. As per the market condition the placement does get effected in that manner like visit of some companies in college. College promises 100% placement although they are not laible for that. There is chance of no placement for some but they can differe their placement yo next year and sit in the process with next batch

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose the course because of I have more interest on business and business environment. In our college, the faculty is too bad because they not well trained and even sometimes they will not provide faculty also. The way of teaching is also not good. The term exams are moderate and if we study means we will definetely pass.

Entrance Preview:

ICET is the entrance test which I have undergone for joining Mba in the college. I got 5123 rank in ICET. This is the good college for those who are doing jobs and other coachings etc.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not upto the mark and the job opportunities are not going to based on the college since it was purely based on the course we are undergoing. Since there are only two specialisations in the college there is no that much scope for other opportunities.
