My college story in bit and bytes

Remarks :

The college was good although it doesn't have a big campus and all but the facilities were good. The amount of exposure you get is far better than most of the colleges in Noida. We were lucky to get some great guest lectures who taught us about how media institute works and how we should prepare ourselves to get into them.

Course Curriculum Overview :

After 12th I was confused about my higher studies I tried to find what's best for me. I had a spark for writing so someone suggested going for this, in my college faculty members are very helpful in nature. Some of the faculty were highly qualified while some are very skilled.

Internships Opportunities :

In the media field, you get free internships very easily and the college also provides internships at local channels but to work in bigger organizations like Aaj Tak, Zee, and you have to work hard on yourself.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

See the fee structure at that time was minimal in comparison to other colleges. My total course fee was 1 lakh 80 thousand for financially weaker students it was much less than mine. The college allows you to pay the fees in small amounts so it doesn't create a burden for anyone.

Campus Life :

To be honest there were no such fests or activities I had seen in my college time although I have heard there very few before me. The library needs newer books what they had at that time was not up to date. The classrooms were good doesn't have many amenities in them. Some normal sports activities were conducted on students' demand.

I wanted to study Journalism, mostly I was interested in Mass Communication. Many Universities do not provide this course. I fill a form at Sharda University then, they took an online test and then an interview. And that's how I got into Sharda University.

Placement Experience:

There are Friday lecture series where companies or successful people in their respective fields visit. Students need to attend those meetings to gain some real-life experience.

Remarks:

No, I don't have any bad remarks at my college. But I would like to say that we should have to be more open up with our faculty members, seniors, and even our classmates because there are still some shy students in my class and some of them had a language problem so they can't put their ideas or thoughts in any events so we must need to solve their problems with a proper solution so they not have to face this type of problems in their future. And even they can easily compete in our society as a well-established person with lots of abilities.

Admission:

There was an entrance exam for indraprastha university for bjmc just like other courses. After giving the exam, the cutoff rank is generated on the website portal. All the colleges providing the course announces multiple cutoffs until seats are full. Via univers portal, we can login and make a list of colleges according to our preference and priority. After that, according to our rank, suitable college is alloted to us in every cutoff. At last, if we haven't booked a seat in any college till the process then we are directed to a spot council round. Where all the colleges with leftover seats are present and we can get the admission directly.

Placement Experience:

Placement week is what we call job opportunities program in DME. Many companies like Cvent, Aptara, Amazon visited with other public relations and advertising job offers. It was a good effort but barely students joined the jobs. Most were not selected. And who were; they found better opportunities later. There was definitely the issue related to salary expectations.

Placement Experience:

It was finally last moment of my college. All were distressed that which companies will come and who will get selected. As I remember 4 companies came for my batch. They were Amar Ujala hindi leading newspaper, Creative Lipi a SEO based company dealing in Content writing, Dainik Jagran for News Reporter. Naya Savera, a news agency in ghaziabad. On an average all they offer Rs. 1,68,000. For one this figure may be Low but trust me it's all about entering into the sector. After that your performance matters. Placement Ratio was approx 60%. Rest included those who want to changed their career path or not have journalism basic idea yet.

Internships Opportunities:

I had done my internship through Sahara news as news reporter. But it was not with the formal help of college. College didn't help us to get into internship. You have to search it by your own. But I with the help of teachers reference got to enter into it.
