Entrance Preview :

I went through West Bengal Joint Entrance Exam and my score was just average, I took admission in this college because it is near to my hometown and the fee structure was quite affordable and apart from that the placement was good.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The Course Syllabus were standard, basically, the syllabus which is being followed by every college under West Bengal University of Technology is same however the approach is different for different college which they follow to cover the syllabus, most of the college mainly focus on those subject which is essential for placement not for those which is essential for research.

Internships Opportunities :

No, The college does not offer any kind of internship at our time, I am not sure about the current curriculum.

Placement Experience :

I would specifically tell you about my department. The placements and job opportunities vary year to year. CSE department has 60 students and in 2013, 4 people got selected in TCS, 1 in Web Spiders and few more in other startups. In the year of 2012 TCS hired 12 students from CSE and few students got placed in other companies, it was around 60% students got placed in the year 2012 however this was not the case in 2013.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The Fee structure was quite feasible at our time, but I would not like to comment more on it as everybody has their own budget. For current fee structure You can easily get it from the college website, however, during 2009-13 the college's fee was less in compare to their counterpart. It was 20500 per semester + 1K for examination.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

For Students who belongs from Muslim Minorities will get 100% scholarship or somewhat near to it, this what i heard from my friends. Apart from that, students who belong to SC they will also get some lum sum amount from state government.

Campus Life :

The girls are less than boys probably you'll find around 70 to 90 girls out of 420 strength, Most of the students belong from West Bengal only, 1st Majority of student belong from WB, the second Majority belongs from Jharkhand, the third Majority from Bihar then UP and very few from Manipur area.

Hostel Facilities :

BIET has very good Hostel Facilities if you compare it with other college's hostel. They charge a very nominal fee of 600 rupees for accommodation. The Hostel Room is spacious but when it is shared by 4 students you hardly find any space, It becomes congested however in few days of staying you'll start enjoying it.

Exam Structure :

For each Semester there is two class test which consists 30% of weight subject wise. i.e (maths : 30marks class test + 70 marks semester exam). To pass in any particular subject students must get 40 marks in that particular subject. If students get failed in any subject he/she will get another change after 1 or 2 months.

Admission :

You need to go through West Bengal Joint Entrance Exam or AIEEE. Once you qualify the exam you'll get a call to attend the counselling at salt lake stadium, You have to opt the college based on your rank. Once you opted the college you'll have to fill up the form and deposit 10K for the provisional admission.

Placement Experience:

Students from 7th semester onwards are elegible for campus placements. Some of the companies that visits for placements are Google, microsoft, amazon, pwc, TI, accenture, PPEL, etc. A total of 920 recruiters were there which offered 753 offers to the students and out of them around 75-78% were placed. The highest placement package was offered by microsoft for 51 lpa as PPO to 14 students and the role was IDC. The average package is around 7.5 lpa. Course Curriculum Overview:

B.Tech in CSE is future proof and a very good course for IT sector jobs and I was always excited working in these companies, that's why I choose the course. There are 10-12 faculties present in every department. Each faculty is M.Tech qualified and Drs. Their teaching quality is very good. 4 internal theory and 2 Lab exams happen each semester. The questions are standard, regular, and sincere students can easily pass.
