Entrance Preview :

My college had its own entrance exam in which I fared well and it was a natural choice for me as it offered the course I wanted to pick and was very flexible with my additional professional course that I was pursuing.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course curriculum was prescribed by the University of Madras as the college is affiliated to the University of Madras. It had the right number of subjects which turned out beneficial in my further studies. My core subjects were Management accounting, taxation, cost accounting, business studies, Micro and Macro Economics, Banking and financial laws, Corporate Laws.

Internships Opportunities :

Not all courses had a mandatory internship program. While some did, others gave us an option to undertake a 30 to 45 days internship in a firm / company of our choice in the department dealing with finance or management.

Placement Experience :

We had Cognizant Technology Services, Mahingra group, Tata Consultancy Services etc in the campus for recruitment. However, as I was pursuing a professional course I did not sit for any interviews. But what I heard from my college mates was that I was an enriching experience and they were all offered decent paying jobs.

College Events :

We have an annual inter college function one form each department. For Freshers we had Srujan, a cultural program most popular in our college We have celebrated all festivals irrespective of the cultural differences amongst us. The national seminar held once in 2 years also gathered huge participation from colleges all over the country.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The fee structure is very feasible and the facilities we get are immensely beneficial. When I was studying the semester fee was between 6000 to 10000 for my course which I think was far more feasible than most colleges in the city. Of course each course had different fee structures but my college did have a very feasible fee for all courses.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The college offers sponsorship program to the students who score well in the entrance and their fee is reduced up to 90% which comes is as a great advantage to meritorious students.

Campus Life :

Ours was an all-girls college. The college has a massive play ground, wonderful computer labs and a spacious auditorium where most of the events were held. The students come from varying backgrounds, cultures and ethnicities and that gave us a great chance to know people beyond our own small groups.

Hostel Facilities :

Our college does not have a hostel as the students are mostly city dwellers living in the 10 kms radius. Our college canteen was brilliant making me nostalgic every time I think about college days. The food was delicious, hygenic and affordable by all students.

Exam Structure :

We had 2 internal exams every semester before the semester exams. Also some professors did throw at us random surprise tests which turned out a fun exercise. Neither the curriculum nor the exams were hectic. It prepared us well and made us thorough with the subjects.

Admission :

The applications open when the Class 12th results were announced and we had to submit the filled in applications before a specified date after which the announced the date of the entrance test. After the scheduled tests the results were declared in a couple of days and then there was an interview with a professor and then with the College Principal.

Faculty :

The faculty is learned, friendly and supportive and each subject has a specialist. Students could approach them even after college hours for any additional support or coaching to enhance their understanding on the subject and improving their skill to attempt the university level question papers. However, it would be great to have variety of courses beyond the mainstream courses with equally qualified faculty.

Placement Experience:

The students are eligible from the 3rd year. Many companies including Accenture, Ernst and Young, ICICI, Deloitte and so on. The highest package was offer by Accenture which is 13 LPA. And the average package is 3 lakhs per annum. The person would get a minimum package of 3-4 LPA through campus placement. In my batch of 150 students around 25+ students have placed in these companies. I had plans of pursuing LLB.

Course Curriculum Overview:

According to my point of view my 1st year courses was easier study and apply but it has been harder and not able to understand the concepts in the 2nd it getting more confused day by day after so from the period of 1st year it is easier to understand the concepts so we have to make a good understanding from the beginning

Placement Experience:

Third-year students are eligible for the campus interview. All companies afford the opportunity. Mostly banks like hdfc, hsbc, etc avail the opportunity. In my class there is total strength of 74 students in that 25 students got placed in different companies.

Placement Experience:

Final year UG and PG students are eligible to sit in campus interview. As of for Bcom fields 2 companies namely Deloitte for audit assistant and DE shaw for fellowship associate came to hire .Offers made weren't made public. As of now De shaw came with a package of 9lakh/pa but the entrance was difficult and I am not sure if any of them got placed. Decent number of people were selected In Deloitte.I personally feel the percentage of students getting placed should be increased many times, I m looking for placement. I m someone who is looking for a job in the arena of accounts and finance and looking forward to get placed in a good company and looking forward to be an asset to the company and also build a strong foundation for my career
