Remarks :
There were two interview rounds (one telephonic interview and another video interview). The interviews were very professional and we're related to real-world scenarios. They also gave a Case Study to solve. You will get 6 hrs to solve and reply to the solution. There was a marking based on educational records and work experience in addition to the PI and Case Study. Secondary, Higher Secondary and Bachelor Degree had their weightage of 10% each, the case study had a weightage of 20%, Competitive Exam marks had a weightage of 10%, Work experience had a weightage of 10%, The interviews had a weightage of 10% each. So, in short, you can get selected in the college even if you are not appearing for any competitive exams if you can perform well in the other segments. The college provides dual specialization, one of them being Marketing is a very common choice. Others are Finance, Operations, Human Resources, International Business. Though this will depend on your interest after 1st year.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The College offers dual specialization. The most common choice is Marketing Management, followed by Finance Management, Operations Management, Human Resource Management, International Business management. There are Six Trimesters in the Two year-long PGDM course. The students get to select their specializations after the third trimester. The college used to provide SAP which was my primary reason for choosing TBS but due to the pandemic, it went for a toss. The college is now trying to provide specialization in Business Analytics as well. The college faculties are in fixed numbers, they keep on changing depending on the requirement. The ratio is roughly 1:20. Most of the faculties are very experienced and energetic and some are researchers. Taxila has a very unique way of evaluating students. Class performance, GD, Viva, Presentation, Written papers, Daily Assignments and Case Studies, Coursera everything counts. 12 hrs college schedule is enough for passing if you are attentive.
Internships Opportunities :
The college provides opportunities during the time of internships. They also allow us to get hold of opportunities that are self-acquired. I have done my internship with a stipend of INR 10000 per month, which was the highest in our batch. The projects are field-specific, for example, projects in Marketing, Operations, Finance, People Management, etc
Placement Experience :
The college has faced a major setback due to the current prevailing pandemic situation. Though companies like Hindustan Unilever Limited, S&P Global, Jaro Education, BYJU'S, VIVO, Gravita etc have visited for campus recruitment. The college claims high placement records like 12-14 LPA but sadly that happens to only a very few students. The mean placement is around 5-6 LPA. Most of the students get placed. The college seasons the students in such a manner that they can survive in corporates.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fee is 8.5 Lakhs excluding hostel, clothing, books, other misc costs. The hostel cost is around 2.1 Lakhs that includes 3 times food (below average) and stay (average). There are no Scholarship opportunities. Only there is a small rebate for those who pay the fees at a time. The college helps with the formalities if someone needs financial loans from banks or NBFCs. The College claims high placement packages (10-12 LPA) which is very less in number whereas the mean is quite low (about 5 LPA). The placements have taken a further blow due to the pandemic. But companies like HUL, Jaro Educations, S&P Global, BYJU'S, VIVO, Gravita, etc have visited for placement opportunities. The curriculum includes internships. The college sometimes arranges industrial visits at an additional cost.
Campus Life :
The college campus is not very huge but has good facilities like Library, a world-class auditorium, swimming pool, gymnasium, TT Table central AC, Wi-Fi. The sitting arrangement in the classes is in mini-auditorium mode. There are a few groups like the placement committee, cultural club. If students want, the college allows them to celebrate pujas and events inside the campus. Fest and Freshers' is also enjoyed in the Taxila Auditorium. The library has different kinds of books on various topics and journals from various bodies.
Hostel Facilities :
There are single and double occupant hostel rooms that are spacious and are facilitated with central AC, small attached toilets, almirahs and tables. The beds are single. Three meals are available at the college campus mess. They are not very spicy. The area is kept clean and hygenic up to 80% on average. The hostel fee is 205000 for two years including food and lodging.
Interview Experience :
There were no Group Discussion rounds. I attended two interview rounds, one being a telephonic round and another being a skype round. I was also provided with a Case Study and was asked to submit a solution within 6 hours. There was marking on Previous Educational qualifications, Competitive Examination, Case Study, Interviews, Work Experience.
