Remarks :

The HOD's counsel you along with your parents regarding the course that they provide and its brief idea. The minimum percentage of 60% in PU is mandatory with biology being your subject in science for opting life science combination in UG For PG, Bangalore university conducts counselling based on merit list where you can opt for a govt seat in the college.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The stream of my choice was Microbiology which was my field of interest. The teachers of the Microbiology department are highly knowledgeable and the teaching quality is really good. The semester exam happens once in 4-5 months for PG and it's quite difficult to score great marks in PG and it's not that difficult for one to pass as well.

Class Size : 60Course Fees : INR 40000 per year

Placement Experience :

From B.Sc 4th semester, the students are eligible for placements. The number of offers made is not known. The average package would be 4 LPA. Around 30% of the students would get placed. The plan after getting the degree is to start my PhD.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fee for the course in PG for a govt seat would be 40000-45000 per year and the donation seat is highly overpriced around 2 lakh for the entire course. The locality students(OBC and SC/ST)can also apply for scholarships like Vidyasiri every year which applies for fee concession.

Campus Life :

The annual fest is conducted once a year in the month of September/October. The library is fairly good and has abundant books for each subject. The amenties in the classroom are not that good. There's no much importance given to extracurricular activities.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because of the subject. Mainly I like the subject biotechnology it has many sub-subjects to study. Faculty members are not good but we should adjust. Students are approximately around 60. Faculty member's qualification is good but the way they teach is not proper because sometimes I don't understand the language itself. And there will be sudden tests and internals we won't get proper time to study only.

Christ University Bangalore is one of the best institute in Bangalore for engineering and masters degree

Admission:

Got the form directly from the college office, filled the form and submitted the application, waited for the selection list for interview, attended the interview, then waited for the list of selected students. I got in! The process was straight forward and transparent.

Remarks:

All in all Jain University is a great college but the school of graduate studies needs some improvement. Students spend a majority of their time in college and it's sad when that environment is uncomfortable and below a certain standard. The management also need to learn to treat students as adults no matter how ill behaved some might get- and respect their space and behave in a way that shows respect. Watching management course and threaten definatly doesnt help.
