Remarks :
The college had three definite processes for selection. 1. Document Verification - We are asked to submit our documents and after getting verified we are allowed to go for further steps for selection - I was assigned with a topic to write. Post that the seniors helped us to go for GD 3. GD - The students were grouped in number 10. Firstly, each student was given a separate topic to talk about. Just like an extempore. So, I was given the topic of Swach Bharat's talk for a minute. And after the completion of each student's extempore, a common topic was given for group discussion. The group discussion went for around 35 minutes. 4. Personal Interview - My personal interview was taken by the director of BITM himself. Very basic as well as subject-related questions were asked along with the preference to choose the institute between 4 institutes. The seniors throughout the process helped us and were very quick in scheduling everything back to back with around 65 to 70 students on the same day.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose MBA-PM and HRM from Balaji Institute of Modern Management (BIMM) because of the inclination of towards human resource planning and recruitment. And BIMM was one of the top colleges that were for this specialization along with good placement scenes. The faculty-student ratio is sixty is to one. The teachers are highly qualified and have the best methods to teach. The whole first year went online but never it seemed to be a compromised study. The teaching staff always gave their best to make us understand each concept and continues to explain until and unless it gets crystal clear. Also, the college arranges corporate guest lectures for the students. These guests are recognized leaders and experts from various organizations and industries. It helped us a lot to gain knowledge of the outside world and have practical knowledge about the market. The college arranged more than 100 such guest lectures. The examinations were also held smoothly and on time with proper invigilation.
Internships Opportunities :
The college has a certain policy. One student if got selected for an internship project with a company cannot sit for another company or cannot switch until and unless the concern is big. I have been selected with NielsenIQ, a market research company. The company offered a 3-month internship with a stipend of Rs. 10000 per month. Since I am pursuing HR, so I was assigned as a Talent acquisition intern. There was no such specific project given to me but I was closely working with the recruitment team and also helped in campus engagement.
Placement Experience :
There is no official notice yet that came to the students for campus placements. However, as per my knowledge and been through seniors, we are allowed to sit for campus placements from our sixth end days of the semester. We are completely unaware right now.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
I have not received any kind of scholarship because the college doesn't provide for the same. On the part of fees, yes the college was very rigid. They value money more than anything else. I got my Internship at NielsenIQ from the college itself. It was a paid internship. The campus and the placement handling team have done a great job in bringing in various companies so that each one of us from all the specializations gets placed with a good company. My internship period was for 3 months, however, the college only permits for 2 months but one can do more than 2 months if they are sure that they can manage both their course as well as the internship. The company provided me Rs. 10000 per month and it had been a great experience and a lot of exposure and learning environment is present. Honestly speaking, Balaji Institute of Management really cares for its students and as heard from seniors, the campus tries bringing top companies until and unless each of its students gets placed.
Campus Life :
Okay, so due to this pandemic, we could not reach out to the campus. Most of us have not even got any chance to see how Sri Balaji University Pune looks like. Talking about books and journals, the college has provided all the soft copies in the drive. Also, they managed to provide us all the semester books in hard copy as well through courier. This is the major plus point I want to highlight for our campus. In this big outbreak, no campus (as per my knowledge) bothered to give hard copies to the students but our college has managed to do so and even took the responsibility that each one student gets it. We have an official WhatsApp group where the librarian daily, without any fail, provides us insights from the world, newspapers, and even some cases and articles that are important for MBA students needs to know. There are virtual co-curricular activities that happen. It doesn't take place very frequently but yes, once in two months or three months we have it. There are many groups and clubs that are run.
Interview Experience :
I have already stated this answer in the prior questions. Anyways, the topic of my GD was related to Coronavirus and China. I exactly do not remember. The process of my Group discussion started after writing an essay that was considered as our Written Ability Test. We were grouped in around 10 people and before starting the group discussion the panelist took an extempore round from each one of us and asked us to speak on a basic topic for a minute. After taking extempore, he has given us a topic on Coronavirus and something related to China to have a discussion on for around 20-25 minutes. I didn't have to prepare much for my interview. All I went through is basic knowledge about our surroundings i.e. what is going on in and around. Because most of the questions by panel come straightway to check your awareness. Also, I prepared a bit from my graduation subject. Read all the important things that came across my graduation days. One thing that matters is your dressing, it also create an impression.
