Remarks :
In Government engineering College Bikaner I applied through REAP(Rajasthan engineering admission process). The rank of REAP is based on your JEE score and 12th percentage. But you can also apply directly to this college after the 12th if you are not selected through REAP. If there is any vacant seat left in any branch of college then you can go for direct admission and most of the branches have not filled, you can easily get admission directly. There is no minimum age for admission. If you are 12th pass then you can try for admission directly. There are two types of the seat in this college. Frist is GAS and the second is SFS. The GAS seat is not available in all branches, it is limited. Fees for the GAS seat is very low like something around 5000. SFS is available for all the branches and its fees are around 30000 per semester. For the admission process, you can apply online through REAP and after shortlisted you have come to college and verify your documents. The admission process is very easy.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I choose b.tech in Electrical engineering because I am interested in this field and this field has a lot of opportunities. Our teachers are very helpful and very knowledgeable. Their teaching method is good. Most of the facilities either pursuing their PHD or did PhD. There is 2 semester exam in one year. And in each semester, there are two midterm exams. The midterm exam is easy and semester exams are moderated. If you study well then you can easily score in the semester exam. In four year there is around 40 subject in B.tech course in each branch.
Internships Opportunities :
Very less company came for internship. In this field, we should work. But we can go for the internship through college. All the expenses during the internship are handled by Tequip for some selected students. We can go for IIT Bombay tech fast for free through Tequip. IIT Delhi also conducts an internship in a year. We can also go there with the support of the college. But some workshops are held by the college on the demand of students from the best professors of IITs and Nits.
Placement Experience :
From semester 5 students are eligible for placements. Campus placement is not so high and some local companies and also some big companies came for hiring the students. The average package is about 5-6LPA. The maximum package is about 9-10LPA. There are about 10% of students are placed from campus. After my degree, I will go for higher study. For this, I am preparing for the gate. I personally, not interested for job, want to go for further study.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
For b.tech there are two types of seat. Frist, GAS In this seat fees are very low, it is about 5k to 10k per year. But the GAS seat is not available in all branches. It is available in some of the brands and also it is limited. Second, SFS In this seat fees per semester is 30000. Means around 60000 per year. This seat is available in all the branches. In the GAS seat, you got a scholarship from the government and that's why fees are low for this seat. If you are on an SFS seat and you can't pay fees at a time then you can go for an education loan. Campus placement is not so high. But college continuously working for increasing campus placement. In college, there is a Training and placement department that works for increasing campus placements.
Campus Life :
The campus is not so attractive. It needs a lot of improvement. But there are separate building for each department. There are many small festivals conducted by the college. Some festival is also conducted by Tequip. There is a big library in the college. Most of the book is available there. All the newspaper are available in the library, you can simply go and read that also. A separate computer library is also available. There is also some GATE standard book in the library. From the 2nd year onwards, classes for GATE is also conducted by TEQUIP. Most of the classroom has a digital board. There is one or two sports event organised by University in a year.
Hostel Facilities :
Hostels for boys are on the campus of the college and for girls, hostels are in the city of Bikaner. For girls, hostel fees are around 30000 per year and they have to give the bus charges for come college daily. For boys hostel charges are 30000 per year and there are no bus charges because the hostel for boys is on campus. Currently, the Mess of hostel has a charge of 3000 per month. It includes breakfast, lunch, dinner and tea at 4-5 pm. For freshers, the hostel room is in good condition. In the hostel room of boys one bed, one table and one chair are given by the hostel. The registration process of the hostel is very easy. You should go hostel department and book a room by giving some advance. Rooms are easily available in starting. Availability of rooms depends on the number of admission of new students. If you are not interested in living in the hostel then you can go to the Mukta prasad colony. It is around 4 to 5 km away from the college. All type of rooms and pg are available there.
