Remarks :
I had no intention of going out of Agra, so chose the best college in Agra i.e. St John's College. The college is famous for its mesmerizing buildings. Not only the buildings are beautiful but the teachers the students and the other college staff are always ready to provide help. The admission was done on a merit basis i.e. 50%marks of class 10th and 100% marks scored in class 12th.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Having Heard of this college from my parents I wanted too wanted to be a part of it. During these uncertain times also the college is trying its level best to help students understand the course topics through virtual learning held through the online portal of the college. There are around 7-9 teachers for the BCom program and all of them are highly educated in their respective fields, with an equal male-female ratio. The exams are held t their respective dates with strict standards of passing. Overall the college is a win-win deal for anyone who wants to learn and stay in the city itself.
Internships Opportunities :
The placement rate of the college is around 50-60 percentage with most of the students getting the placement. The highest package offered by the college ranges from 12,000-15,000 by HDFC and SBI. We have a life-changing experience here where being not only budget-friendly the college provides various internships like a call centre with a stipend ranging from 8,000-15,000.
Placement Experience :
Students during their last semester become eligible for placement offers held by the college. Since I'm in BCom first year I don't know much about the placement procedure of the college but as far as I know, there are companies like TCS that come and do campus placements and select students with a stipend ranging between 15,000-25,000.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Talking about St John's College, fees structure or fees hikes was never a problem for students. The college's fees structure is quite conducive for students of all categories. The fees of the BCom program for the 1st year is around 4058 for girls and 4200 for boys. Since I belong to the general category I've not opted for any scholarships but the college provides various scholarships every year. Every year some companies do come to the college for campus placement and students do get selected. I highly recommend this college to all those who want to learn to keep their budget in hand.
Campus Life :
Being build by Britishers, the college is famous all over the city for its historical buildings making it look like Agra fort. The college has a conductive airy environment providing students with all sorts of facilities like libraries, labs and most importantly the canteen. Various college fests are held for students having all sorts of activities like painting, Rangoli making, gk quizzes and whatnot. The college also sports tournament on its huge college grounds. Also, there are many societies like the commerce department the NSS, NSC etc.
Interview Experience :
Due to Corona, the college was not able to hold any group discussions or personal interviews and all the admissions were done on a merit basis. But as far as I know, the college holds an entrance exam for admission which includes topics like partnership, national income little bit of statistics, but it's not that difficult to pass the exam because mostly I cover the 11th & 12th syllabus. But the college held a small interactive session to introduce the new students to the college ad the faculty. There they asked us questions like our fields of interest our hobbies etc.
