Remarks :

Dr D. Y. PATIL is one of the renowned and most reputed colleges. It is one of the very few colleges that provide Bachelors in Biotechnology. The main things that attracted me were the ambience, the study environment, the people around and obviously the teaching. The experience of the facilities speaks for the amount of hard work they have taken to educate the student and for real impart the appropriate knowledge. Even though the institute does ask for a heavy amount of fees, the progress of the college is pretty nice. Outdoor projects, indoor fests, graduation and freshers parties are the few highlights of this institute. We celebrate every auspicious day with all enthusiasm and fun. The college is amazing and I am really glad to be a part of it.

Course Curriculum Overview :

As I previously mentioned, the faculties in our college are extremely great and well-educated and informed. Every faculty has their own charm in teaching and make sure that the knowledge is hitting us right and not just making us sit there for namesake. Most of our faculties are P.hd and have a great reputation as researchers who have contributed to make our Nation a better place. The ratio of faculty to students is pretty fair and balanced. The teaching method of every faculty is different, interesting and unique. From real life experiences to actually practically proving it, their teaching methods impact our brains a lot and increases our interest more. We have 2 internals and one final end semester for all 8 semesters. The marking system is appropriate and the level of questions are medium and sometimes vary between easy and hard. Scoring is not that tough as the teaching helps a lot to score well.

Placement Experience :

The students become eligible to get placed in their 4th year. There are some great companies coming by to recruit the students. The overall packages are pretty fine. There are like 10 to 15 students getting placed every year. I wish to work after I graduate and then prepare myself for masters.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Though Dr D. Y. Patil is a great college, the fee structure is too heavy for people coming from a middle class family. The amount our money we spend on admission, exam and other expenses every year is too much and too hefty. The fees keep on increasing exponentially and it is really not feasible to spend 2 to 5 lakh every year. We do have only one scholarship for our student exchange program to Sweden.

Campus Life :

The campus life is way better than what we imagined. Though the campus is small and not many amenities are provided, the people around make it fun and interesting. The classroom amenities are pretty dope and cool with projectors, big boards, fans, study tables and windows. The campus area is comparatively too small. Sports and cultural activities are given immense importance and enjoyed a lot. We have our Cytosol fest that is conducted in February and then the main event Urja which is conducted in March. Sports and culture are mixed and everyone enjoys being there. The library, online books, research paper availability, journals for reference are pretty much on point and really helpful. We recently would be starting a lot of new clubs soon.

Hostel Facilities :

The hostel is spacious, well maintained and comfortable. It is not up to the expected mark but it is not that bad too. Looking at the amount we pay, we don't really get an equal amount of amenities. The meal provided is sometimes good and sometimes really out of taste. The registration process is extremely necessary and well taken care of. The hostel being on the college campus, there is time flexibility but the amount we paying is too huge.
