Remarks :
For Bachelor in Pharmacy, admission is done on the basis of the rank obtained from Kcet (Karnataka CET) exam. And if the seats were left then those seats will be distributed on the basis of PU marks. For diploma in pharmacy also the seats are given on the basis of Kcet and merit. I chose this college over many other colleges because its the one and only government college of pharmacy in Karnataka. And knowledge can be acquired much because of strict examinations and faculty. Goods- there's a good environment with friends and all for studies and the certificate from government college is more valuable for placements and all. Bads- you cannot enjoy college life much as compared to private colleges (one can understand how GOVERNMENT colleges will be). This college belongs to the Rajiv Gandhi University of health sciences and the website is rguhs.in. and you can access to all notifications about colleges on that website only. Hope I've given a brief and well defined review of our college.
Course Curriculum Overview :
This college offers mainly three courses. 1 bachelor in pharmacy, 2 diploma in pharmacy, 3 masters in pharmacy. This is purely a Rajiv Gandhi University of health sciences belonging college and the curriculum if of it only for all over Karnataka and for all colleges. I chose b Pharmacy because I wanted to complete my degree but one can opt for D.Pharmacy and then can get a direct seat in B.Pharmacy 2nd year. Faculty is sufficient for teaching 60 students per class and there will be no batch-wise classes only 60 students limit. Faculty is around 40 members and they'll manage all the things easily. Almost all of the lecturers are of m pharma PhD's and some are from NIPER. The term exams will be held yearly twice at 4 to 5 months intervals and passing in rguhs is quite difficult and scoring is a bit more difficult task for students. It takes time to understand how this University works in paper valuation and then after 2 years it will be piece of cake.
Placement Experience :
Campus placement is less. The only a couple of companies will visit the college like Cipla and Himalaya which will preferably choose d Pharmacy students over b Pharmacy students. So have to apply out of the campus for placements. As I saw Cipla visited once and offered 3 lakhs per annum for 4 students of final year b Pharmacy. But can get more salary by completing M.Pharma. Percentage of Students getting selected in campus selection is quite less.. average students can pass those interviews hardly, but if you regularly study and have quite good basic knowledge and in-depth knowledge about the concepts and others then it will be piece of cake for those students. And diploma students get more campus selection opportunities because they will pay less for them and get the same work done. So they prefer more diploma students. As I'm planning to clear GPAT exams and of it goes good then ill do M.Pharm or else I'll do business.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Fees will be around 12 to 15k on average. The students with non-government working parents will get a scholarship of nearly 10 thousand rupees. So the fees can be paid by an average student with middle or low-income families. And also scholarship helps and encourage students more. There will be exam fees except for the main fees which are around 2000 rupees that's it about the fees. Campus selection is less as compared to other colleges. But you can apply for the job out of campus and get job easily after passing here with 4 years of B.Pharmacy or with 2 years of m Pharmacy. M.Pharm will allow you to get the job easily. The students who pass the GPAT exam will get a stipend of 12000 per month for 2 years. (For M.Pharm only).
Campus Life :
Campus life is not that up to the mark. There is no playground or space for playing games and all. You have to go nearby stadiums to play cricket. The campus is small and enough for pharma college but if you are a hosteller you can enjoy a bit more. There will be culturals sports and academics are conducted every year where you can enjoy a couple of weeks in these events. And also one can showcase their talents and skills. Classrooms are well enough not so high quality but good classrooms and are big for 60 students. Books can be borrowed from the college library and also by seniors. And also one can purchase books in the market also which are quite costly but affordable. Groups and clubs- there is an NSS group that it. Else no social groups or no any other clubs by students.
Hostel Facilities :
Basic hostel facilities were good when I admitted this college but now it is quite dirty here (bathrooms) but rooms and all facilities are quite neat. Based on how you keep your room. Meal quality is not up to the mark but manageable and cost-effective, the menu is not that big, you can get chapati and rice Sambar for daily dinner and lunch for Tiffen in morning north Indian dishes and South Indian dishes are made daily. Different recipes daily for Tiffen in the morning. The registration process is easier.. one can fill the form of the hostel and get admission for hostel easily which has no fees and only have to pay for monthly food which will costs around 2500 rupees which is quite cheap in Bangalore's lifestyle. Hostel is located just backside of College campus, one can walk easily for 1 minute.
