Entrance Preview :

Masters in Economics required to clear entrance exam, which asks basic economic question to test basic knowledge on same. I scored 82 out 100 in that exam.I opted sk somaiya college because I am inhouse student and provided subjects are quiet generic.have also heard about good faculties.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Course is basically for generic economic theories, so whenever one can read newspaper and see some theories or methods in economy. So one can understand. Subjects like micro Economic, Macro Economics, Monetary Economic, Agriculture Economic was there.

Internships Opportunities :

No internship was there, it is good to do along with your job, because economics degree something is not that, when you go out and expect 20 k salary even. I saw many fresher's were struggling and some of them stuck with professor profile and some of them changed their industry started with 10 k salary.

Placement Experience :

If masters in economics is done after some financial degree then it is useful . because after knowing financial concepts one can co related it with economy. Packages as per understanding are there in market. Experienced may get 30-40 k say 2 yes of exp. Currently economics fresher's are not required as per my understanding.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

Fees structure is quite low for this course. College charges 20 k for 2 years, and notes were use to given by faculty. Books were not required to purchase, and in fact there was no need to buy one book. Because one book does not cover all the syllabus questions.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Loans were not required, it is feasible to pay 9 k for a year, it is an one time investment, no scholarship was available . They may have outsourced scholarship, or for high fees courses they do available loan facility.

Alumni/Alumna :

Yes they have created certain groups and forums to stay connected with Junior students. Earlier when college started all orientation functions was carried by seniors, when they cleared, we became members to handle our juniors

Admission :

Since I have enquired about the entrance exam first..date was declared by Mumbai university. There were 40 students along with me for entrance.

Faculty :

All faculty were visiting, all were quiet experienced and practised in Economics, but all were quiet old, and we haven't got any practical examples. One can relate all economics after reading of newspapers and articles on same. Faculty should be needed energetic and young in this field since subjects are so boring.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I am studying political science at postgraduate level in savitribai phule pune university. Our course structure is good. It covers basic fundamental of subject. Teachers deeply teach core concepts. But they lack on real world application. They dont focus on market demands. Students of political science finds hard to get placement.

Placement Experience:

Placements in general are quite great, because of how longstanding the university's reputation is. I was especially pleased with the internship opportunities provided, because of which I even landed a job. However, one batch in every few years may face the brunt of a bad job market. But students can keep in touch with their classmates/seniors for opportunities

Course Curriculum Overview:

Interset in the course , job availability and reputation of the college is the main factor for choosing this college . They spend time understand the context of students and sensetheir needs . Every thing is perfect but the lectures are too big of 2 hour/- for a lecture . The period for prepration for the exam is very long and enough to prepare for exam .

Placement Experience:

The students join in large numbers in this college because of better placements only. They are aware of the same before admission. There is a placement cell called CGPC on the campus which consists of students from the final year. They take care of the students' placement needs. There are many companies like BAIF, Pradan, Kudumbshree, Rajivika, Bihar SRLM, MP SRLS, ORMAS, OLM, Antra, APF, etc. 100% of students get placed from all the courses. Some students of SIE go for establishing their own business enterprise and they do not sit for placements, some want to go for higher studies. Those who wish to get a job all get a job.
