Remarks :

College faculties are very good. Staff at account counter/section are also very good. Personally ,they helped me a lot. But, sometimes,we feel that college management committee and administrative staff are very harsh to students even at the time of emergency.

Entrance Preview :

I took WB-JEE Exam that time. I forget my exact rank, but I scored around in between10,000-11,000 Rank. I wanted to study Electronics and I heard College(BIET) was having Good faculty that time. Moreover, it is a Govt-aided College(or Say Semi-Govt College). Because of this, the fees structure was almost half as compared to Private Colleges.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course structure was very good literally. It was as par with the syllabus taught at IIT/NITs'. WBUT(Our AFFILIATED University) tends to change the syllabus or course content according to the changing situation of other Illite instituitions like IIT/NIT and to changing updated technologies so that our overall impact on Knowledge stay updated and we ,students, are not far lack behind them.

Internships Opportunities :

There was no paid-internship. BUT, They help at their max level to get students hands on exposure during summer/winter vacation at our own cost. Personally, I did four summer industrial-trainings during my winter/summer vacations, but at my own expense. However, College helped us a lot to fix with the company/organisation for vacations training.

Placement Experience :

Placement varies from year to year. I am giving one example. For our senior batch 2010 pass out,ECE PLACEMENT was 50% (provided ,number counting for only those who are eligible to sit for placement). FOR our batch ,ECE PLACEMENT was 60- 65 %. Civil and Mechanical was higher. EE was a bit low. Anyway, college try to arrange at least 2-3 companies per students for eligible students.Average salary was 20,000pm.

College Events :

3RD Year students are given the responsibility to organised college technical and cultural fest as well as College foundation day. Regular seminars, workshops and conferences are also happening at the college. One more mini fest also used to organised by 4th year STUDENTS. ALSO, college sports meet and other mini functions are happening at regular intervals.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The fee structure was feasible and cheaper. The fees structure was almost half as compared to Private Colleges. It was all because It receives aid from the Government of West Bengal, World Bank under TEQIP-II, Birbhum Zilla Parishad, West Bengal Power Development Corporation Limited and MPLAD scheme for the development of the infrastructure and the campus.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Yes Loan or SCHOLARSHIP facilities were available at our time. As most of our students came through WBJEE rank and on merit, college helped and talked with the bank to provide load facilities. And other govt sponsored scholarship were also provided according to Minority category/Caste.

Campus Life :

We have a social group ,sport group and many other groups. Students from many part of states are coming for admission at college. So, its like a mini India at the college. We have one NGO established by our college students(specially or mainly 80% funded from our students itself) to establish a school and help impart poor students good basic education nearby our college, where by our dedicated college student volunteers go and teach there after our clases or at free time.

Hostel Facilities :

Sports amenities are available at the hostel campus. Mess food quality is average. At my time , Room rental were just 600 per month and mess fees were 800 pm at first year and it was raised upto 1200 at 4TH year. other information are: number of boy's hostels 4:- 3 for 2nd year to 4th year students, 1 for 1st year separatel accommodation of boys hostel 1100 students number of girls hostels 3 accommodation of girls hostels 300.

Alumni/Alumna :

We have social networking site like Facebook and twitter which we connect ourself with our juniors and seniors and then take help to another. Besides, alumni functions are also organised yearly at our college at a given time.

Exam Structure :

Apart from University Exam, there were periodically weekly test and monthly test. Some teachers were very strict for such tests and some were very easy-goers. It was all balanced. But, one disappointing thing is the lab structure. Practicals were all not upto the mark, although theoretically all were very strong.

Admission :

Exam notification for form fill up used to come around at nov-dec of every year. Then, entrance examination used to happen at the month of April(but it varies year to year).Result came after 45 days and counselling date was issued. After getting Rank-Score Card, i was called for Counselling to select my desired course, institute and available seat according to my Rank at Kolkata.

Faculty :

The college faculty were very good upto we reached 5th semester. After that, they were all average. Faculties background are very good with most 60-70 percentage of them had done their Mater Degree either from Jadavpur university, IIT or IIEST, shibpur. Honestly speaking, theoritical teachings were very good but they lack in practicals or lab teachings.

Students from 7th semester onwards are elegible for campus placements. Some of the companies that visits for placements are Google, microsoft, amazon, pwc, TI, accenture, PPEL, etc. A total of 920 recruiters were there which offered 753 offers to the students and out of them around 75-78% were placed. The highest placement package was offered by microsoft for 51 lpa as PPO to 14 students and the role was IDC. The average package is around 7.5 lpa. Course Curriculum Overview:

B.Tech in CSE is future proof and a very good course for IT sector jobs and I was always excited working in these companies, that's why I choose the course. There are 10-12 faculties present in every department. Each faculty is M.Tech qualified and Drs. Their teaching quality is very good. 4 internal theory and 2 Lab exams happen each semester. The questions are standard, regular, and sincere students can easily pass.

College was good in terms of studies and many more. But now it fails in giving placement. Most of the students are still unemployed. Only 30% of the students are placed from college. Others have to find there own jobs.
