Course Curriculum Overview :
The curriculum was followed as per Anna University norms with proper class timetable and exam schedules. Hands on laboratory experience with experienced faculties made it easier to understand the subject along with tailored notes to make student understand easily. Industrial visits and symposiums are held every year where the students get an opportunity to learn more.
Placement Experience :
The placement cell of the college ensures that all the students are well prepared and industry ready during placements and hence 100% placement is achieved. Since this college is a remote one the companies that visit are mostly bpo thou reputed companies do visit but rarely.
College Events :
Every year technical symposiums are held for each department with equal participation of all students. Mechanical department symposium is a must attend one as automobile riders from various parts of the state come together to be a part of mud race or bike stunts. Cultural festivals like Pongal, Onam, Christmas etc are held every year with competitions and programs. At times food festivals are organized where students and staffs can set up their food or recreational stall and sell their items.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
The fee structure for tuition and hostel is relatively lower than those in the cities. Tuition fee can go upto 87000 per year and hostel fees 45000 per year. No donation. Mode of payment can be done offline or online. The fee breakdown is also transparent.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Sc st students avail free tuition as well as hostel. Scholarship opportunities for each caste is available. I havent availed. Students who did schooling in india only can avail these scholarships.
Campus Life :
Campus life is beautiful as the scenery and the climate is enjoyable. The gender ratio is more or less equal and students from Kerala, and from few northern states offen find themselves in this college. Since this is a christian institution prayer cell is maintained regularly and a chapel is also open for students anytime. Frequent workshops related to the department subjects are held with basic training in areas such as hacking, networking etc. Freshers day is held for freshers every year. Ragging is strictly prohibited and strict action is taken if any ragging complaint is reported. Sports wise the college has football, volleyball and cricket grounds in addition to a huge ground were sports day and athletics is held. Students are made to practice regulary and take part in competitions. A well maintained canteen is available too.
Hostel Facilities :
Hostel is spacious with a nice big garden and halls. Each room can accomodate 3 to 6 students deoending upon the size of the rooms. There are sufficient rooms in the hostel. There is a tennis and volleyball court inside the hostel compound. There is a dispensary too inside the compound. Due to cold weather hot water using solar water heaters is provided. Food quality is good and the menu can be decided by the students.
Alumni/Alumna :
Seniors are strict at first to instill a behaviour of respect and discipline and gradually they become a part of some of the best memories of college.
Admission :
This college is located on a hill station so it has a pleasant environment. The college is famous as the only engineering college in The Nilgiris. I had my relatives there. The admission was direct admission through management quota. The fees is less compared to city area colleges.
Faculty :
The lecturers are experienced middle to older aged staffs mostly holding doctorates. Teaching is good with doubt clearing and proper notes. Each department consists of atleast 20 staffs. All staffs speak fluent english and classes are taken in english though explanations are given in regional language too to those who dont understand much english.
