Remarks :

Every thing has two sides like a coin.Being a part of this institution, i will say that it was worth staying and studyinh here.I got good amount fo knowledge, experience, etc.But somethings are not that good. The clerk level officers are the one witj whom you have to face headache. They are not that friendly and not helpful. Also you have to deal with them by listening to their arrogant language.Secondly it being a professsional course student himself has to pay attention to studies. If you lack, no teacher is going to pay attention to you on his own. Yes they are helpful, but not by their own. Attendance is strict here, if yoh fail to fullfill criteria, you can face difficulties. So you need to be regular unless ill.Hostel life is worth. You come across diffrent people from diffrent regions. So it makes you learn many things. Atlast this is the place you will surely miss a lot, once you leave it after education.Worth studying and staying here.

Entrance Preview :

I went through my HSC BOARD EXAM IN yr 2011 and scored 93.25% marks.I was a student of General science and hence opted for both faculties i.e math and biology.MHT-CET exam was held in moth of may and i scored 186/200 makrs in PCB group with state merit of 68 .As i was in first 100 students at state level, it was possible for me to get any college of my choice.Besides that i belong to open category and so i missed my first choice as KEM hospital and got the 2nd choice i.eNair hospital Mumbai.Im studying here currently in final year.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Curriculum is the heart of your education. It is must that you should get a good curricular exposure. As this college is run by Municpal corporation in Mumbai, it gets adequate funds for development. Also the teaching staff here is awesome.Every department is equipped with good teachers and post graduate students. These teachers are quite experienced. This is what you need in medical field. So students get good amount of exposure to knowledge and also teachers are quite helpful. So we need not worry about our problems. May it be ragging, study problems or economic, you will get help.

Internships Opportunities :

Internship is provided in City itself. Our hospital is run by Muncipal corporation hence we are provided internship in city hospitals under the BMC.Tenure of internship is same as other colleges i.e 1year. You will get stipend of 5800 /- per month at present.Demand for increase in stipend is already being worked for.Internship starts in month of march after your final year results are out. We get good exposure that is enough for a MBBS doctor from practical point of view. Other students are also there with us as co interns. So its not that heavy load on you. You will be a good MBBS doctor after this amount of exposure.

Placement Experience :

Placements as such depends on your experience, your qualification and your interview. You can work as a medical officer if the post are vaccant. Other wise you have to go out of city wherever the post are vacant. To become a teacher here need good qualifications than other candidate for same post. As a medical officer you will earn about 30000/-per month.Aslo govt pay you 40000/-approx per month if you are working as a resident doctor. So job is not a problem. You are going to get it at one place or other.

College Events :

Two major events are celebrated each year by students.1)Aarambh 2)ShravansariAarambh is one of the biggest festivals in Mumbai celebrated at college level. It is celebrated in month of february. All students from 1st year to final yr and interns participate. We have dance, drama, debates and fashion show in it.Informals are also done as a part of it.This whole event is meant to maintain unity among students and to have extra curricular component. Shravansari is celebrated in shravan season as the name states. In the month of august, we aarange various cultural programmes like marathi dances, singing, debates, interview of great personalities as a inspiration for students. So all these events bring a feeling of brotherhood among us.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

Fee structure is diffrent for open category and other students. For our batch(2011) we have yearly fee of 48, 500 rs/-.This is tution fee.Hostel fee cost you 4000rs yearly. After each 6months period you have to pay 24, 300 as your fee. Secondly for Obc students and all students other than open category, there is no fee at all. You need to pay only hostel fees, if applicable. Various scholarship programmes are provided for students on basis of curriculum progress. This help is provided by private institutions in Mumbai. Scholarships have criteria of marks and income.Further details of income and marks are provided in college. Every year there is increment in fees by government. So above fee structure is for batch 2011. Further details of fee are available on sites of goevrnment.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Many private scholarship programmes are providing the help to students. These scholarsips have criteria of marks and your family income. Limits of these differ each year and vary for diff programmes. Students are informed about these at college education department.

Campus Life :

Five and half years spent here are as good as spending your one life here. You wont feel to leave this place as you complete your education. There is such an affecion to life here. Every student has its emotions and memories attached to curriculum and extra curricular activities. We play cricket, football, volley ball and many ther sports on our hostel ground. Hostel ground is such a beautiful and huge place that you can arrange matches like anyother stadium. It is well maintained. Also many programmes like Dandiya, dance, drama are arranged on this playground. Part of our festivals is carried out on this ground.College festivals till now were awesome. We enjoyed them, cherished memories here and we are going to miss them in future. Its is such a beautifual place.

Hostel Facilities :

Hostel facilities are awesome. It is situated in area of HajiAli near worli.Surrounded by racecourse, it has a magnificient view of Arabian sea.Cleanliness is maintained throughtout the year, with workers to clean your rooms and toilets and corridor. Huge ground adds to its beauty. You can arrange football, cricket, volley ball matches. Its that huge. It is located at a distance of about 1.5km from college. Students can travel by taxi or bus.Bus fares are approx 10rs till college.By taxi you can cost around 40rs. So its not that hard to travel to college. Its just 1.5km. Many students even travel by walking. Food is provided by canteen that runs from 7am in morning to 10:30pm. Veg and nonveg food with good hygiene is provided. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, all you can do at one place with good menu.So its worth staying here.

Alumni/Alumna :

Students dont have any organisation as such. How ever we are made the part of college Gymkhana. Students are selected for post of General secretary, cultural secretary, sports section of Gymkhana. These students are elected by students by voting if multiple candidates are there.Senior -junior relationship is that marks most your daily activities. You constantly come in contact with them. However i can say asure you that, ragging is not done here nowadays. There are strict rules. Also the presence of healthy senior junior reltaion helps juniors a lot. So you need not to worry about ragging incidences.

Exam Structure :

Each year have its final exam conducted by university of nashik (MUHS).We have early pattern like other medical colleges of maharashtra.after completion of that yr, you have exam.Other exams are conducted on behlaf of college as internal assessment. Marks of these internal assessment are part of your eligibility criteria for final exams.so minimum 50%marks are essential for passing in both practical and theory indivisually.Less than those marks are reported as fail. Then you have to opt for same subject after 6months with continuation of current academic year.so you wont have to leave your batch (exception being final yr, after which your batch goes into internship). So basically passing is at 50% each in practtical and theory.

Course Curriculum Overview:

MBBS is a very secure option to get a job later You get to open your own hospital later on. The curriculum is very practically oriented. you get hands on experience on patients and cadavers. Appropriate skills are taught as well through college programmes. Teaching is by presentation mode which gets quite boring for long hours but it's bearable when combined with afternoon practicals. Exams take place every 6months 2 term exams, 1 prelims , 1 University level exam

All teachers are respected individuals in their fields. The teachers are either MBBS or MD/MS the ratio is approx equal. The exam papers are also very nice and set. The papers are set in a way that we can put in the applications of the topic which have learned which also benefits use in future.
