Remarks :

College Management was supportive and awarding for the good ranks in internals. Our principal was very good at preeching us good values in life. Our management invited a lot of personalities in its annual day and convocation ceremonies like Chief Justice of Tami Nadu,Actors,IAS officers and people of varying personalities.

Entrance Preview :

I appeared for Anna University Engineering entrance exam TNEA for 4 years 2007-2011 full-time course in AU affiliated college. I secured good marks to get a CSE seat in one of the premier college of AU.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The Course curriculum was centralized AU 4-years curriculum. The 1st year syllabus was common to all departments but from 2nd year onwards, we had 6 semesters.

Internships Opportunities :

In my college days there came mostly electronics manufacturing companies which hired our students for internships with good stipends as the college was located in Sriperumbudur which is a hub of manufacturing companies like Hyundai,Nokia,Foxconn,Flextronics. No companies came for Computer Science and Engineering.

Placement Experience :

There is centralized campus placements for all AU affiliated colleges. The companies for all departments start hiring from 7th Semester onwards. For CSE, companies like Infosys,TCS,Wipro,CTS,CSC,Cisco done recruitment in almost 3 rounds Aptitude,Interview-Level1,Interview-Level2 or HR Interview. The positions offered at entry level as Project Engineer Trainee,System Analyst,System Engineer,Software Engineer.

College Events :

Our college had a lot of events anually which include Academic Tech Fests,Sympoziums,Cultural Events,Musical,Dance Competitions,Sports preferable Kabaddi competitions, Annual Day celebration and many more events on religious forums.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The fee structure is totally feasible. For academic year 2007-2011 the fee structure was Rs 50000 per annum. The hostel fees was Rs 30000 per annum. In first year including all miscellaneous one-time payment charges. I paid 1,50000 in total at the time of admission. After that I paid Rs 50000 per annum as mentioned above.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

I did not avail any scholarship, loan facility. May be my friend would have availed which I am not aware of.

Campus Life :

Campus life was pretty good with good relationship among faculty staff and students. We had access to our respective labs, playground,or canteen in our leisure time. There were regular newspapers in all languages alongwith a large variety of books to read. There were quizes, internal competitions, paper presentations, award ceremonies, regular visits of premier personalities, blood donation camps and many more to count for.

Hostel Facilities :

The Hostel facilities were very nice with 24 hours access to Library. There were rooms with 2-bed and 3-bed sharing. There were separate buildings for Boys and Girls Hostels but common mess. The hostel food was very nice with good south indian dishes. Breakfast included Idli,Upma and Kichdi. Lunch included Rice,Sambhar and varying curries and chutneys with a fruit and a sweet all-time. Dinner included idli, chapati, parotha with curries and 2 chutneys. On weekends there were veg and non-veg foods. The hostel was surrounded by lush green environment with a playground haveing a basketball court.

Alumni/Alumna :

Our seniors were very supportive. There was a light interaction and introduction on first meet. My seniors used to support me with their projects and knowledge shares. Since I was new to the place they helped me understand the place much better. They were volunteers to college functions and helped us to volunteer in successive years.

Exam Structure :

The Semester exams were conducted in own campus but in a strict manner with External and Internal Invigilators. The sitting arrangement was two per desk with no shoes and nothing in pockets except Pen,Pencil and other stationeries. For every exam there were 10 2-marks questions (20 marks) and 5 16-marks questions (80 marks). For 16-marks questions there were option to choose one among two.

Faculty :

The faculty of the college is at par providing the students an opportunity to learn and practice as much as they can and consume a lot of time doing practicals for the Programming theory for almost all subjects. The college' vast programming lab let students explore and practice the programs with the help of Lab assistants and teachers.

Placement Experience:

The campus placements start in the 7th semester. Due to the recession, there is a lot of backlash when it comes to placements. It has been quite poor for the last few years. But it depends on how the student is prepared for the competitive world.

Placement Experience:

Placement is good for the CSE and IT departments. You can't expect placement if you belong to other departments, there is a placement for the other departments but very less. Campus placement starts in 3rd year itself. They have special classes for Aptitude skills and interview preparation GD and necessary preparations for job placement opportunities. 90% of students from CSE and IT get placed. The average package is 7.5 LPA you can expect a minimum of 3.5 LPA. If you are willing to go for higher studies you can contact the international relation office they have good relations with other universities abroad, they have students exchange programs, research scholarships etc if you are not planning to seat in placement. I plan for higher studies and research after my Btech.

The placements in my college is very good and top companies hire students across every branch with a good amount of package. At the end of 3rd year every student is elegible for the placements in college. About 20 to 25 companies visited for campus hiring and approximately 700 offers were given across the college from every branch. 60 percentage of students got placed in the campus hiring program. Highest package is 24 LPA and the aveyis 5LPA. My plan is to get into a good MNC company which is related to Aerospace technology.
