Dhruv's Review On Institute Of Hotel Management Catering Technology & Applied Nutrition - [IHMH ], Hyderabad

Course Curriculum Overview :

The duration of the course is three years which includes subjects such as hotel engineering, nutrition, principle of food science, foundation course in food beverage, management in tourism sector, front office operations, hotel accountancy, food quality & safety etc. the course main focus is made on the satisfaction of customer demands and to provide good level of service in the management & hospitality sector.

Placement Experience :

Roles such as management trainee, cabin crew, kitchen management trainee, finance analyst, research officer, custom relative executive etc were offered to students during my batch. The highest salary awarded for the post of cabin crew was 11 lpa and the average was 4 lpa for customer relation executive. The job areas include food & beverage marketing, sales sector, hotel administration, front line office operations etc. Internships were also provided by the college to the students with the minimum stipend of 15,000 per month.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The tuition fees for one year is around 49,635. Admission & registration fees of 1500 and 1800 needs to be paid separately. Exam fees of 2500 also needs to be paid. Thus the total of one year comes down to 1.3 L after including all the other necessary charges. The grand total for three years is approx to 3.43 L which from my point of view is quite reasonable.

Campus Life :

Food festivals and expos related to hotel administration & allied fields are regularly conducted at our college. The students participate in city and national level competitions related to hotel management and win medals in their respective department. Visits to temples such as Iskon, Sri Krishna temple, Biral temple, Sanghi temple etc are also held once in a year so that we get knowledge about the cultural artifacts. Cultural activities and national festivals are also held to boost the morale of students. Sports tournament is held every year to encourage maximum student participation.

Admission :

For admission in this college you need to qualify a entrance test conducted by The National Council. Other than that you need to secure at least 50% marks in class 12th from a recognized board. The maximum age limit for general category is 22 years while those for reserved category is 25 years. Apply online for the college and upload your educational qualification. Merit list will be prepared on the combined scores of 12th standard and online examination. If your name appears in the list you will be called for a counseling round and later granted admission.

Faculty :

The teachers of the college have many years of experience in their course. they train us in such a manner that we become professionals in the field of human resource, customer service and in business management. The teaching methods of each teacher are very different. They clear the doubts with utmost clarity and procession so that the students can gain maximum amount of knowledge about the subject.
