Ishani's Review On Institute Of Hotel Management Catering Technology & Applied Nutrition - [IHM], Dehradun

Course Curriculum Overview :

The courses here are very interesting and fun. Both internal and external exams are held every year. The internal exams seem quite easy but the external exams are tough as they are conducted by the NCHMCT council. The externals are very hectic and tough.

Placement Experience :

The placements are pretty decent. Different top class hotels come to recruit the students. The interviews are Skype based. For personal interviews, the candidate has to visit the respective hotel. The pay provided by these hotels is also really good. Internship opportunities are also provided by the college.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The fee is okay. I have seen not everybody is able to afford it. For my course, the tuition fee per year was around 70,000 rupees. The fee can be reduced a little bit so that many students can be able to afford for such quality education.

Campus Life :

There are frequent workshops held to enhance the skills of the students. guest lectures are also conducted frequently. Extracurricular activities have their separate clubs as well. Various sports events are held every year and a huge number of students participate in the competitions.

Admission :

The admission process was very simple. After completing my 10+2 boards, I appeared for NCHMCT. Then based on my secured scores, I was allotted IHM Dehradun. To confirm admission, one has to pay the tuition fee and examination fee for first year.

Faculty :

The faculty is so good. The lessons taught are more on practical basis. Theories are comparatively less. But both are given equal importance. The classes are regularly held without any fail. The faculty is always there to help us in any situation.

Placement Experience:

Placements are decent for CSE branch. But for other baranches very few companies visit on campus. Also for other branches your Cgpa should be good to be eligible for companies. If you have interest in your core branch(other than CSE) than it is better to preparing for Gate in early stage(like start preparing from 2nd year).

Course Curriculum Overview:

The variety of course was the main thing that influenced my decision to choose this course. This curriculum has made me strong enough to stand out in public and be myself. The areas for improvement would be:- They must develop a approach of practicality in terms of teaching. Also they must consist more variety of tools for psychology And they must provide students more space for sharing their own views and understand their perspective as well
