Remarks :
The college management is a very effecient one. This can be seen by the goodwill of the college. To be a student of K.J. Somaiya College is a matter of pride.
Entrance Preview :
I appeared for a private CET held by the college. Scored around 77/100. I chose this college because of its quality of education provided.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course has been extended to two years from the current academic year 2015-2016.The curriculum has a few subjects which seem relevant and some which need not be included. There are alot of practical activities in the course.
Internships Opportunities :
There has been no internship yet. We'll have practice training sessions in the second semester. I do not think there would be any stipend offered as such. All expenses have to be borne by the students themselves.
Placement Experience :
K.J. Somaiya College of Education, Training and Research is known for its placement and packages which adds to its goodwill.Don't know of correct figures, but not all were placed. The smart ones get through college placements generally.
College Events :
The college has alot of extra curricular activities. Each and every festival is celebrated with a big bang. The college easily gets alot of sponsorers which help to make a succesful event.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
The fees for the B.Ed course is 2 Lakh 50 Thousand for two years. It is quite expensive unlike the other colleges. However, the college provides the students the provision of installments after every two months.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
There is a scholarship offered by the government for this course. However, i do not know of anobody who has actually received it in real.
Campus Life :
The college has a huge campus with a number of courses offered by the college. Hence the campus is filled with people of different age groups. The girl boy ration in the college seems to be close to equal.
Hostel Facilities :
I do not stay in a hostel since i reside in the city where my college is situated. The food in the canteen is not very great and is also quite expensive.
Alumni/Alumna :
The alumni of the B.Ed college was invited for a few of our events where they shared their own experiences about the course and their struggle towards gaining the best out of it.
Exam Structure :
The course has four semesters spread in two years. Each semester has one preliminary examination. The college also conducts class tests which are a part of the internal examination.
Faculty :
The faculty is well qualified and quite supportive. It is the nature of the course that sometimes gives us a wrong impression about the faculty. The college has many courses altogether but has made a provision for a separate section for the B.Ed course which makes its operations very organised.
