Remarks :
Attendance at Sinhgad Academy of Engineering (SAE) is strict enough to maintain discipline. The attendance and punishment structure is something like this: 50-75% - buy books for the library. 25-50% - parents are called. Below 25% - detained.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Sinhgad Academy of Engineering's campus is huge and it's one of the best amongst engineering colleges in Pune. It's admirable and the first thing that impresses you is its massive library. It shares its campus with a number of other Sinhgad institutes like Sinhgad Institute of Business Administration & Research (SIBAR), Sinhgad College of Commerce, Sinhgad Junior College and the pharmacy college as well. The entire campus is Wi-Fi enabled, a feat which few other colleges can boast about. Playground for cricket & football, a tennis court are available for recreation.
Placement Experience :
The Sinhgad legacy comes into play here. Good placements for Computers, E&TC and Mechanical, with around 80-90% of the eligible students being placed. IT recorded 100% placements among those eligible for the previous year. Accenture, L&T, Cognizant, Iflex, Infosys take most of the students. The average package is around 3 lac per annum.
College Events :
Sinhgad Academy of Engineering has its Cultural fest-Sinhgad Karandak sometime in February. It also has two technical festivals called Technofest, and Innofest. Playground for cricket & football, a tennis court are available for recreation and also to compete.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
Sinhgad Academy of Engineering is located in a very remote area called Kondhwa Budruk in extreme south-east Pune. It's accessible by PMT buses but the frequency is really bad. Effectively, you are forced to travel by six seater tempos or your own vehicle. A good option, therefore, would be to stay in the college hostel itself (Rent is 45,000/- per year).
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
No, I haven't availed any scholarship or education loan, but it its the same standard procedure which is followed in maximum of the colleges.
Campus Life :
The crowd is refreshingly above average, and far better than general engineering standards. It's a healthy mix of a few localites and students from all parts of the country. Astonishingly, you often see pretty girls hopping around in the campus. Energy levels are high and students are very enthusiastic about festivals, events, sports and various other extracurricular activities.
Hostel Facilities :
A good option, therefore, would be to stay in the college hostel itself (Rent is 45,000/- per year)There are 3 canteens in the whole campus. Mess food is just about edible, so students prefer eating in the canteens, where food is decent and reasonably priced. Students mostly prefer the SIBAR canteen.
Alumni/Alumna :
They have various facebook groups which has current students or alumini people who can aid you for reviews.
Admission :
If your name features on any of cut off lists, well congratulations, but don’t let your excitement make you forget the last few steps you need to complete, namely, send in attested copies of certificates/marksheets within 7 days of results, report to the college with your original documents.
Faculty :
The faculty for Information Technology and Computers is really good. A lot of experienced professors teach here. However, there are always a few ‘incompetent’ ones, and the students say that a few professors aren’t very good at their communication skills. But overall the situation is quite good.
