Narendra Kumar Joshi's Review On MBM Engineering College - [MBM], Jodhpur

NJ

Remarks :

Very Good, the college was amongst best Govt colleges of Rajasthan and was having highest strength of students. At that time Govt. Engg. Colleges were at Jaipur, ( Regional College), Jodhpur and Kota only.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Good faculty such as Prof. Alam Singh, Prof. BC Punmia, Prof. Ramachandra who were writers of many books were used to teach us. The college was Govt. College of good repute in Civil Engineering having syllabus covering a competitive exams. The students were taught through practical trainings, projects and actual survey.

Placement Experience :

Many students qualified for IAS, IPS and IPSC Indian Engineering Services. No internships was there for Engineers but practical trainings were must.

College Events :

I participated in Cultural Activities viz. Debates, Poems esp. patriotic poems in College and Hostels and obtained either first or second position in them. All college functions which were organised were also used to attend by me while participating in them.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

Being Govt. College very nominal Fees were charged say Rs.2500/ month or so say Rs 30000 annually. The hostel fees of Rs 9000/ per month excluding mess charges was in addition to it. Mess facility were either through contractor or managed by hostellers themselves on contributory basis.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Need cum Merit Scholarship as per Govt policies,my father was low paid Railway employees and I was good in my studies so opted for this scharship.

Campus Life :

In two batch's namely five years and four years there were only two girls Students Only 2 out of approxGood faculty such as Prof. Alam Singh, Prof. BC Punmia, Prof. Ramachandra who were writers of many books were used to teach us. The college was Govt. College of good repute in Civil Engineering. 200 students.

Hostel Facilities :

No hostel facility was provided in first year, in second year triple seated hostel rooms, in third year double seated room and in Final year single seTed rooms were provided, choice of rooms and hostels was strictly as per merit.

Alumni/Alumna :

In initial years the Ranging tradition was there say in first and second year, we were having fear with our seniors but later on this ragging system was discontinued. Our seniors esp. those of our home town or district.

Admission :

I was having much interest in mathematics and was good in that. In my family my elder brothers were doctors and hence I opted for Engg. course. The level of honour was highest for Engineers at that time. Qualified Through PET and got admission in first year in year 1983.

Faculty :

Best,Good faculty such as Prof. Alam Singh, Prof. BC Punmia, Prof. Ramachandra who were writers of many books were used to teach us. The college was Govt. College of good repute in Civil Engineering. The faculty were more or less permanent otherwise at that time faculty was changing frequently after obtaining job elsewhere.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course I am studying right now is biomedical engineering, this course is not that famous among engineering students, but this course a lot of power, it is different from any other engineering courses, I found this course very interesting and in the upcoming years this course is gonna be a masterpiece says my teachers. The curriculum certainly helds a lot of workshops which help students interact with the teachers and each other and increase there communication skill and analytical thinking, they give students the opportunity to organise the events to boost up there confidence and prepare them for real world. I would suggest to introduce more interdisciplinary courses such as data science with humanities or environmental science with policy studies. The frequency is like there are 2 continuous assessment per semester and end semester examination at the end of the semester, I think it's quite good the internal assessment helps learn the difficulty of the course.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this because the Curriculum is well curated with the latest technological advancements as well as industry standards. They usually take unit test based examination once in a month to test the performance of the students.

Many companies like Infosys, Walmart, Cisco, Goldman Sachs, Flipkart, and Wipro come every year to hire students from CS, IT, and other BTech branches. The package offered starts from 2.5 lakhs and goes up to 30 lakhs. 90% got placements every year for the CS branch with an average package of 5 lakhs. Many students opt for higher studies also.

JECRC provides a lot of opportunities but it is totally us how we grab those opportunities. This year over 2000+ students got campus placements and the companies who took our students were Amazon, Cisco ISRO TCS, etc. Many students were placed in Amazon with 44 LPA which was a great achievement for JECRC.
