Student's Review On Seema Dental College And Hospital - [SDCH], Rishikesh

Remarks :

I'd heard that the OPD was pretty good, which it is most of the time. The environment of the college is nice too, the campus is clean and well maintained which I'd discovered on my first visit there before admission.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course is good, most of the teachers teach well. There were extra classes too once first term exams were over to help the ones lagging behind. Classes and labs are well equipped. The staff easily clears all doubts when needed.

Placement Experience :

Students generally either open up their own clinics or look for government jobs. Some prepare for PG entrance exams. Some might even opt for jobs at private hospitals. Some who wish to teach can take up jobs as assistant staff but it's not exactly well paying.

College Events :

A sports fest is conducted each year with both indoor and outdoor games like volleyball, badminton, kabbadi, basketball, carromboard etc. It lasts for 3-4 days and each year participates with zeal and enthusiasm. There is a cultural fest too which lasts for 2-3 days. There's singing, dancing, open mic, drama competitions, fates, DJ nights and such. It is the most fun we have all through the year. Then we also have a lot of opportunities to attend conferences and fests in other colleges all throughout the year. There's also an annual founder's day where the academic achievers are awarded, parents are invited too.

Campus Life :

The labs are well equipped. There isn't much in the name of field sports cuz we don't have a big enough ground. But there is a basketball, volleyball and badminton court. There's also a swimming pool and a gym. The library is in the basement and big enough. It has the books one would require according to the course. The hostel has free wi-fi.

Hostel Facilities :

Each room mostly has two kids in it with an attached bathroom. The rooms are spacious enough. Two single beds, tables, chairs, and two almiras each are provided. The rooms are cleaned every alternate day. Rooms are available on a first come first serve basis and generally there are enough rooms for all newly admitted kids.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I opted for this course as I wanted to become a DENTIST. Faculty: ratio is there is 1 teacher available always for every 20 students. Faculties are master graduates in their respective fields and some are b.d.s graduates who are also very helpful. Exams after every 3 months and a final professional YEAR-END examination and practical are done.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The faculty-to-student ratio is good. The faculty is quite qualified. There is also a sufficient number of non-technical staff to provide an ambience of self-learning. The faculty promotes rational and practical behaviour towards the subjects taught. They promote the efficient use of available resources.

Course Curriculum Overview:

For me, BDS is a perfect course as teachers and faculty members here are brilliant. They are so helpful and explain each concept multiple times. Practical classes are over the top as all the departments are fully equipped with dental chairs, sterilization machines.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because I feel like the people in India are so much unaware of their oral hygiene and don't take proper care of it with later on leads to many complications. So I wanted to join this field and make them aware of their bad oral habits treat their oral and dental problems as it's very important to have healthy oral hygiene and dental health as well. The faculty staff is very supportive and understanding they help us out with our problems and positively guide us towards our practice as well as theory work. There are 2 internal assessment exams 1 preprofessional exam and a final professional exam for each year. In the first year, I was a bit nervous about the exams and viva, and as I started giving exams. I got mentally prepared for further coming years.

Remarks:

I wanted mbbs college but my marks were not that too high.as my health was not good. I suffered from a constant 103-degree fever and was on bed for one week. then I did not want to waste another year so I opted for dental.also my nanu who is a doctor himself encouraged me for taking dental as it has good scope. I took seema dental as it's in my native state.

Placement Experience:

It depends upon the student's performance and what he/she wants to do further and there is not so much patient coming as Rishikesh is not that big.

Remarks:

To be very honest, there may be better colleges, but after my two months of research on more than 8 dental colleges in north India, I found that SDCH was best for me. Of course, there are many factors: The affordable fee. The fascinating and refreshing weather. The location of the college. The college has pg departments. Regular festival celebrations, Fest, Sports week, DJ nights, Etc. College is located on the bank of holy river ganga, you can witness daily sunrise through the mountains. I love the weather of Rishikesh as well as the location of college, it is located far from the city commotion. You can walk on the bank of river or jog daily or just sit there with your loved ones, you will feel fresh and fresh and fresh. Helping faculties, no compromise in study, you may have to face daily viva and questions in classroom. You can't hide yourself from the eyes of faculties (may not be good for some. Laboratories have more than enough instruments, machines. etc. The nearest market is at distance of 10 to 15 mins. Of distance – Triveni Ghat. Stationery shops and restaurants are just outside the college campus. College canteen is also there where you will be found in boring lectures eating bread pakoda and Maggie with coffee;). Ragging word is not there in SDCH seniors dictionary. In fact, they will help you in many ways in growing your personalities, in your studies and of course during exams. They will make you aware of all the tough situations you will be facing in coming days. The only thing they want back in return is RESPECT from juniors. You cannot roam all day in the rishikesh on working days, there is fixed timing for daily outing and fixes procedures for gate pass.

Placement Experience:

As i have earlier said that BDS is not a course where you will be hired by compnies. Here you will have to set up your own clinic after course or you may join any higher hospital. THere is a misconception that this course has a lesser opportunity but belive me this is not true. After BDS you are a specialised doctor where you are treating patients only related to oral and maxillofacial issues but you at the same time you will be knowing all the general concepts whis a physican and general surgeon knows. You will be surprise to know that a person with MDS in oral and maxillofacial surgery( which is a higher degree after BDS) works with Brain and neurosurgons in higher and most difficult surgeries.

Remarks:

It was near my hometown. I like the peaceful environment of the place. The place teaches you how to be independent, work hard, develop yourself well. The weather stays very nice almost all round the year. Infrastructure is good. Hostel facilities are good with attached washrooms with every room. The students, be it seniors or juniors, are very friendly and bond with each other very well. Helping each other throughout the process. Faculty is also nice.

Remarks:

SDCH ranks among one of the best dental colleges in all of India. Getting to learn there is something I think I got lucky with. I have already made great friends and there are opportunities waiting for me to get to know more people, hopefully. It has been a wonderful experience so far. But I've only started college. I look forward to the years ahead and am sure it will be the best I could have ever had.The teaching, the faculty, the campus it is all beautiful and enjoyable. I would suggest this college anytime.
