Remarks :
College management is good. Does not unnecessarily fine you for small small things like other managements. In my foru and a half years there, there was never a time when the management interfered with anything. any problem you face or will face, we had class coordinators and if it cant be solved in theor level, then principal sir. He for sure had a practical solution to everything.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Four years of academics, lectures and clinics and 6 months compulsory rotatory internship at the KLEs Prsbjakar Kore Charitable Hospital. First year starts with anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, sociology, psychology and biomechanics. And non university exam subjects include management and computer applications. Second year has subjects like pharmacology, pathology, microbiology, exercise therapy, electrotherapy and prosthetics & orthotics. And non university subject environmental studies. Third year has only medical subjects, so there's general medicine, general surgery, clinical neurology, clinical paediatrics, OBGYN, social and preventive medicine, ophthalmology, ENT and clinical orthopedics. Fourth year, is just plain PT, i. e. physical therapy management of all the conditions subdivided into PT Med, PT Surgery, PT Orthopedics, PT Neurology and Community Based Rehabilitation.
Placement Experience :
Compulsory rotatory internship of 6 months in the KLES Prabhakar Kore Charitable Hospital and Research center along eoth peripheral postings at old age homes, schools and day care like centers for the differently abled, KLEs Cancer hospital and at a PHC.
College Events :
Independence Day with flag hoistingand snacks, Ganesh Chaturthi with arti two times a day for 5 days not compulsory for all and games in the evening followedby DJ night. Diwali lantern designing competitions. Christmas is celebrated by annual college dinner called dine and dance. NSS day awareness, charity and volunteer work, World Physiotherapy Day rally. Annual Day, Graduation farewell of seniors. Compulsory participation in all events mandatory.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
When I was an undergrad the fee was 67000 per annum, in 2014. But by the time my super juniors had jlibed ot was akready mear 1 lakh per annum. Right now the fee mustve hiked. As compared to other colleges, KLE provides us with state of the art equipment to study. Relatively the fee os on the lower side as compared to other private colleges elsewhere.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
I'd wrotten the exam and got in so I had paid no donantion. But there were kids in class who had to pay 1 lakh extra just to get seat because of low scores. So of sorts I had no donation amount paid for me. There was a girl in class 2ho had taken a bank education loan.
Campus Life :
In a class of 80, in 2014, there were 11 boys and reast were all girls. Because its a professional course, a little strenuous curriculum and loads to study, parties weren't the wild ones we see in movies. Most of my classmates were either from Maharashtra, Goa or Belagavi. The college does not wntertain any political parties, so there were no student unions or anything.
Hostel Facilities :
Yes, I lived outsode the campus. I had a three people sharing room non attached not by the college. Lived on the 6th floor and my window opened to a beautiful garden across with many trees. Had a patch of corn cultivation aswell. In the mornings, all sorts of birds used to show up. It was magical. Dandeli is a place about 80km from belagavi, where people go specifically to bird watch hornbills but during minsoon season, hornbills were a common sight outside my window. The college provides accommodation for males and females within the campus of various capacities.
Alumni/Alumna :
We have a strong alumni association. With seniors very well gelled and extremely approachable. The college has a zwei ragging tolerance policy, strict action and even a police case will be filed for any ragging activity.
Admission :
My grandma had a stroke when I was in 12th and I saw the difference a physiotherapist made in her life. That's when I decided what I want to pursue. NAAC A grade. College has good infrastructure with the current modalities and state if the are facility.
Faculty :
Principal sir is an MPT PhD holder, with iver 20 years of experience in teaching. Dean is Dr. Jeba Chitra, MPT Neurology. Vice Principal Dr. Vijay Kage(MPT, PhD). An eminent and extremely well read and knowledgeable staff amongst the faculty is Dr. Deepa Metgud maam (MPT (Paeds), PhD, HoD and consultant of Paediatric Physiotherapy).
