Remarks :
I feel that the college focuses more on grooming its students and developing their professional skills rather than cramping theory and regurgitating it in exams. This has helped me gain insight into the things that I really like to do and the things that I'm good at. This also helped me gain confidence in myself that I can get any job that I like. One of the downsides is that the college has very few cultural events as compared to other colleges. Personally I don't think that this downside matters a big deal, because it can be easily compensated by attending the cultural fests organized by other colleges. To get admission to the college you have to qualify an exam and an interview taken by the college. The exam is pretty simple in itself, but it is the interview that you have to be careful about. I preferred this college over others because this was the only college that focused more on the practical aspects of its students' career.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose this course because I wanted to start my own business and wanted to understand the basics of how businesses operate and grow. The course structure is very simple and leaves enough time in a day for the students to go to their internships after college. Every semester there are 3 subjects that a student has to pass. Hence, every batch gets 3 or 2 Faculties according to the need of the subjects. Every faculty has experience in the respective field that they are teaching at the college. For eg., the faculty that teaches digital marketing at the college has his own digital marketing firm. This enables our faculties to provide us real-world insights about the subject and help us understand the topic in depth. All of the faculties are very open to hearing suggestions on how to improve their teaching style. They make sure that every student who wishes to understand the topic is provided the right guidance. Their practical experience in the field makes it easy for us to trust them.
Internships Opportunities :
As I've mentioned before, the college has a strict policy for the 3 Years of Practical Experience during college. This is why they help us get our first internships at firms/businesses in the city. The college itself offers internships to some students. The stipend that a person gets is generally dependent on the type of firm or business. If it is a startup, then you might get enough stipend to cover your travel expenses, or you might not get a stipend at all. Though the students are encouraged to ask for a stipend to cover their travel expenses if any. After that, the choice is completely up to a student if he wishes to cover his travel expenses by himself or not. I believe the purpose behind encouraging the students to ask for enough stipend to cover their travel expenses is because the focus is on gaining knowledge.
Placement Experience :
Every student is required to get 3 Years of Practical experience during college. For this, the college organizes an internship drive to help all the students get an internship after their initial grooming. This is usually done after the first month of college. Last time, there were about 10-12 companies/startups that participated in the internship drive, and almost every student got placed in an internship of their liking. Talking about packages for graduates, most of our seniors either have their own business, or they want to pursue their MBA, or some of them are helping out in their family business. Since most of them are sorted out (at least 80%), I don't think there will be any official placements on the campus. My plan after getting the degree is to start my own business. The college really helps us make connections in the industry and network with professionals in our desired fields. This helps us become self-dependent to get any jobs or drive business our way.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The college has a pretty simple fee structure. For every semester the tuition fee is 40,000 and the exam fee is 2,500 which adds up to 85,000 per year. You are required to have your own laptop to study at the college as there are no notebooks for students pursuing BBA or MBA in Entrepreneurship except the one book per semester for CFP. The cost for a student living in Jaipur in the area near the college is around 1 - 1.5 Lakhs per year. The amount is almost the same for students living in the university hostels. Being the capital of Rajasthan the costs are higher as compared to other cities. I think that almost every middle-class family in India will be able to afford this college. The college provides a 30% scholarship for students who scored more than 90% in their 12th Class. The college has some guidelines regarding how to get the internship that anyone can get know by contacting the officials through the college website
Campus Life :
The college has its own education fest named "Commerce Clave", which usually happens either in the last week of September or the first week of October. The college also conducts some entrepreneurship events from time to time to test the business acumen of its students. There is a university library on the campus that is accessible by all students. There is a small collection of self-help books in the college and the reading space is very nice. Though I would be very happy if the college management added some more books to the collection. The best thing about Entrepreneurship classes is that we don't use regular textbooks. We study using the internet and whatever resources and articles we can find. This helps us stay up-to-date with the market trends in the field and learn from the leaders in the industry.
Hostel Facilities :
I opted for a double room in the university hostel, which had all the necessary furniture like a bed, table, separate Almira, and shelf. You have to get your own mattress for the bed as well as bed sheets, pillows, pillow covers, etc. When the academic year started, the meal quality was good and the menu had a variety of dishes, but as more time went by, the quality slowly decreased and the meals became more & more tasteless (like classic hostels that you might've heard about). Though most of the hostels are the same in this matter. The service in the first few months is kept good in order to make sure that the students don't leave the hostels. I had my registration process done at the campus itself. There was an initial security fee for the registration and booking of rooms. The hostel provides various rooms according to the needs of the student, a single room with bathroom is charged 95,000/year, and an AC single room is charged 1,25,000/year. Rates may have changed since last year
Admission :
The college has its own process of examination and interviews.
