College review

Course Curriculum Overview :

Lots of hotel management colleges teach specialised courses like students learn only about kitchen, or front office or house keeping, service department depending on the ones interest. But my college has courses for all the department. After completion I can choose my department or can give government exams. Campus placement is depend on one's talent.

Placement Experience :

During my placement drives, approx 52 companies fron different industries came like hotel, retail, FMCG, airlines, gourmet and fashion brands. Recruitment process was same as normal like Exam or GD or both, personal interview, hour rounds and then offers. Approx 85-90% students get placed every year. Some of them opt for further studies or go abroad. Special classes were taken by our HODs and principal to groom the students for the interviews, about the recruitment process etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

My fee was about 3.21 lacs approx, other than examination fees, hostel fees. Mode of payment were DD, cheques and cash. Digital payment were not available that time. My college has provided complete breakdown of the fees and nothing was hidden. The fee structure was very transparent.

Campus Life :

The campus life was good. We can go to MS canteen for very nutritious and affordable South Indian meals and a cup of nice filter coffee. Gender ratio was very bad because girls did not pick for this course more often. Every year sports activities happen for all the sports enthusiasts. MasterChef competition happen for the new chefs in third year.

Alumni/Alumna :

As we all know ragging (introduction session) happens in all the institutions, it was happened in my college too and was full of fun. Seniors were very helpful. I was very introvert but still some seniors knows me and helped me in my assignment.

Admission :

Candidates can apply offline for all the courses offered by IHM. For B.Sc. in Hospitality & Hotel Administration, the candidate must have passed 10+2 with 50% marks along with English as a compulsory subject. Admission is granted on the basis of performance in National Council for Hotel Management & Catering Technology Joint Entrance Exam (NCHMCT JEE).

Faculty :

We had 5 basic courses and seperate lecturer for each course. Each faculty is well experienced and have good industrial knowledge and connections. All of them were well educated and know their job. It good that a student learns about all for major department in all 3 years and then opt during campus placements.

Placement Experience:

Some placements are given in the last year of the college but only some students who are in urgent need of it took it as for others no one actually apply for placement as the average yearly salary is too low and its not sufficient. Only small companies are coming to offered placement so it's also equal to no placement

Course Curriculum Overview:

My choice for this course is due to my immense interest in the field of cooking and I am a very foodie type of person so I prefer this course to learn according to my interest. The faculty is very nice but there are very less students that attend the classes regularly so this is corn about the teaching dept.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Term exams are very tough when in the early stage we will do hard work in the future in final exams the result is automatically nice. I like that type of exam. Our teachers are quite good and they are very hardworking teachers.

Remarks:

I choose hospitality sector because the skills and art is within the person unlike other professions to make them learn. Colleges only train hoteliers skills for bringing up the quality. I love the elite high class of hotels, i can't afford it but what's better to work with the same.
