Raushan Yadav's Review On Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru Government Medical College And Hospital - [GMCH], Chamba

Course Curriculum Overview :

The MBBS course curriculam is divided into three parts the pre clinical, para clinical and clinical. It's a 4½ year course and it is divided in these three parts, plus one year training. Few subjects which We study are microbiology, biochemistry, ENT,anatomy, pharmacology, general medicine, physiology, pathology, etc. We have good lab sessions and are very helpful for us to understand the concepts in practicals ways.

Placement Experience :

As we are doing MBBS, there are good scope for us and there are job opportunities. From college we have placement in govt hospital. But MBBS is just a bachelor's, we need a specialisation after completing bachelor's. Most students go for higher education. Our college provides internship, it is compulsory for us to take internship.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

Fee for MBBS course in this college is regulated by government as it is government college. Fee for first year is 60,000 rupees. Tution fee - 40000, admission fee - 4000, student fund - 4000, medical fund - 3000, security refundable - 6000, dilapidated fund - 3000. Fee is feasible. For second, third and fourth year it is different and less than first year.

Campus Life :

There are many extra curricular activities in our college for students to take part. They include cultural events, festivals, cultural competition, sports competition, expo, quiz, seminars, paper presentation, workshops, lectures etc. Ratio of girls I higher. We have good practical lab facilities in our college with all necessary equipments.

Hostel Facilities :

College has hostel facilities for both genders. There are separate hostel for both. Hostel is located with beautiful environment, well established with good infrastructure. Hostel has all facilities, study area, playing area, sharing rooms, good hygienic food, etc. Rent is 7200, mess charge - 3000, electricity and water charge - 6000, utensils - 2000, and other deposits and charges, with total of 27200.

Admission :

I am doing my MBBS course from this college, I got admission in this college based on my NEET score. I applied for NEET examination and applied for counseling and under State quota in counseling I got admission in this college. One should appear for NEET exam to get admission in MBBS in this college and must clear cut off set by this college. One should have studied Physics, Chemistry and biology in 12th and must have completed 17 years of age.

Faculty :

We have good faculties in our college, they belong to well educated and experienced background. They have good teaching experience, college has balanced ratio of teachers. They are well competent to teach the course. They are good both at theoretical and practical teaching.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is in accordance with NMC guidelines and is up to date and there is lag in that. You will have the same study experience as any other medical college-going student in india so no worries there. The exams are on time.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Faculty here is really nice .Some of them love to teach ,you can see the passion in their eyes They actually care especially 1st year faculty members. Faculty student ratio is appropriate in my opinion,in general we have 3 assistant prof.,1 additional,1associate and 1 head of the department plus JRs,SRs. Faculty members are really qualified and are passed out from prestigious colleges which makes you feel respect for them even more. Term exams are conducted after 3-4 months and you really have to study ,they consume you but you'll pass if you study. They aren't difficult per se but the syllabus is vast which is quite a challenge.
