Kasturba Medical College, Manipal

Remarks :

Definitely 10/10 would recommend to anyone who wants to pursue medicine.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Research driven course. Plenty of opportunities for extra-curricular activities. The university has multiple affiliations and students can go and work at different places to increase exposure. The curriculum is groomed to help in securing international placements.

Placement Experience :

Lots of collaborations and international associations. Internship is conducted in the hospital attached.

College Events :

All sorts of cultural and sport activities are conducted throughout the year. Multiple colleges from in and around are invited to participate in them. Their is a separate student committe to handle events and a Student Activity Centre to help students practice for events.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The fee structure is on the higher side but it's standard for private medical colleges in India. Only online modes of payments are accepted and no cash is accepted. The fee breakdown is absolutely transparent and scholarships are also provided to meritorious students.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

No, as I feel there is not need loan for submitting college fees. But If needed for staying in messes or PG then its personal to arrange. And I don't know if there is any loan facility college offers. Afterall it's a Government college. but, As much I know Cast quota or Kanyashree scholarship provides our Government.

Campus Life :

Equal number of boys and girls (marginally higher number of girls), diverse cultures as people from many countries study here. The college and the people around are extremely tolerant in terms of gender, ethnicity, race, religion, sexual Orientation, political affiliation and economic status.

Alumni/Alumna :

Seniors are very helpful and very approachable. They'll help you learn how to navigate your way through the course.

Admission :

Got admission through the all India entrance test for the college. Chose the college as the infrastructure and facilities are of international standards and one of the very best in the country. Admission is based on merit. Based on the ranks counselling is done.

Faculty :

One of the best in the country. The number of faculties are more than adequate for the course. All doubts are clarified by the faculties and they are very approachable,Most of the faculties are alumnus of the college so they are well acclimatized to the course.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Here in the medical field, the teaching and the efforts of faculty are less and they expect more from the students. Most of them don't prepare us for real-world applications or further academic pursuits. Just they blackmail us with internal marks, eligibility in the subject to write the final exams We suggest they must be a friendly approach towards the students, they should conduct some quizzes or some group wise activities where and how we can learn. Bedside examination should be done properly, Cause what they expect us to do is read the whole book but they forget to teach us Exams should be conducted to know how much we know about it but not to stress us about eligibility

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is based on CBME which prepares us for clinical approach rather than only theory . MBBS course is noble profession . Completing this course is hard as it has avast knowledge. Most of our exams are in written form it should be replaced by case based mcqs . 3 Internals assessment are conducted by college. At the end we have university examination. The exams are difficult, scoring 70 to 80 percent is hard . As the syllabus is vast

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum should be improved. Standardized textbooks should be given to all. So there won't be any confusion about which textbook should be referred for exams. Exams are in written format. In the first year 3 Internal exams are conducted with FA and skill certification. Internal exams include Theory and practical. Subjects are difficult to study. Studying consistently will help to get good marks.
