Athul Mohan's Review On Government Ayurveda College Tripunithura, Ernakulam

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course curriculum is spread across a period of 4 years of education. The curriculum can be a bit tough because learning ayurveda is all about learning ancient medicine which is difficult for people to decipher.

Placement Experience :

The students have to undergo a compulsory internship wherein they learn practical aspects of ayurveda and where it should be applied. There's no placement assistance as such but the students learn well during internship period and therefore get placed in good places themselves.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The fee charged for this course is relatively less as its a government college. Students have to pay around Rs. 14500 per yearly, which makes up the total to Rs. 58000 for a duration of four years time.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The college gives stipends, medals and prizes to the deserving students under various categories. It gives scholarship to students who qualify for it depending upon their financial status so that they can pursue this course.

Campus Life :

The college conducts various extracurricular activities such as NSS, poster making competition, guitar, light music, cartoon making etc., to bring out the artistic side of students during their college education.

Admission :

Admission into this course requires the student to qualify the common entrance examination that is set by commissioner for common entrance examinations. Also, students should've cleared their 10+2 or equivalent to be eligible for this course.

Faculty :

The faculty of this college are all educated in their field of specialization. They are friendly people and teach students with such an approach that students understand things easily as ayurveda is tricky to understand.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I think we have a best curriculum. It includes all the aspects of the medical science. It includes some irrelevant topics like miscellaneous also. But it's good for us to learn about that all. There is internal exams as well as yearly exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

i really like the modern approach of this course. the way it's modern but also keeping it to ancient way of treatment is quite wondrous to me. really like the new curriculum, as it increase our engagement withe the course and the required patient-doctor approach. i think the exam aspect could be improved, as we give exam every month, then term exams twice, then one university exam. the difficulty level is only upto the terminal exams in my opinion.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I Chose this Course as it is Emerging more Effective in the past Few Years and I believe I could contribute more in this field. Moreover I was Interested in the Ancient Cultural form and the uniqueness of the Science of Ayurvedic Medicines and Treatment Methods. There are 14 Departments in the College including Both Clinical and Non Clinical aspects. Each Department Has about 6-7 Faculties Incuding HOD, Assistant and Associate Professors. At Present there are 5 batches of Students in the Undergraduate Course Excluding the House Surgeons. So about 360 Stuents total. There are about 200 Students in Various Post Graduate Course. The Faculties are appointed through Government Exams and Interviews and are Eligible after the BAMS degree and PG Qualification in respected departments with Experience of teaching. The method of teaching is very Systematic with periodic assessments. As per new NCISM rule term Exams are once in each 18 months and Can be passed through Systemic studying and activity.
