Sowndharya R's Review On AVS Engineering College - [AVSEC], Salem

Remarks :

Instead of spending much on the advertisement, spend on the quality of education.try to hire good faculties and improve the teaching system. Don't waste students time in unwanted celebrations. Instead of those stupid associations do something useful.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Anna University curriculam. But there is no subject matter expert in college including the HODs. Curriculum should be made to match the current requirements of the industry so students will have better visibility

Placement Experience :

Placement cell is really working hard and they are trying to bring as many companies as possible to campus but who will hire from a college where even the principal is not skilled enough. And department staffs are nothing at technical knowledge. So students don't get technical expertise.

College Events :

Friendship day, pongal, Diwali, sports day, annual day achiever day, founder day and what not? Every day in the calendar will be celebrated. So students will be happy. They just want to make their main stake holders happy so if the student is celebrating much they won't care about studies

Fee Structure And Facilities :

First Tamilnadu State government should stop giving this stupid scholarship to everyone because of this scholarship these colleges are simply playing with anyone with degree. They are admitting everyone for the damn scholarship

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

First Tamilnadu State government should stop giving this stupid scholarship to everyone because of this scholarship these colleges are simply playing with anyone with degree. They are admitting everyone for the damn scholarship

Campus Life :

This college is famous only for extra curricular activities. You'll find all sort of celebrations and enjoyments. Even students roam together as couples as if they are in public parks and only students are being respected by management

Alumni/Alumna :

They don't respect any of the Alumni. If the alumni is well settled, they'll call that alumni just to advertise their own college and none of the well settled alumni were placed by the college. Everyone settled on their own.

Admission :

Through Anna University Counseling. Did my diploma and joined this college by mistake. The worst campus I have ever seen. Now it's better but the time I joined, there were not even basic facilities. Not even a canteen properly.

Faculty :

They are simply hiring everyone with masters degree. Skill of the staff is not at all needed. Who ever is ready to work for less salary, they'll hire. And also pressure on the staffs for bringing admissions.

Placement Experience:

The campus placements start in the 7th semester. Due to the recession, there is a lot of backlash when it comes to placements. It has been quite poor for the last few years. But it depends on how the student is prepared for the competitive world.

Placement Experience:

Placement is good for the CSE and IT departments. You can't expect placement if you belong to other departments, there is a placement for the other departments but very less. Campus placement starts in 3rd year itself. They have special classes for Aptitude skills and interview preparation GD and necessary preparations for job placement opportunities. 90% of students from CSE and IT get placed. The average package is 7.5 LPA you can expect a minimum of 3.5 LPA. If you are willing to go for higher studies you can contact the international relation office they have good relations with other universities abroad, they have students exchange programs, research scholarships etc if you are not planning to seat in placement. I plan for higher studies and research after my Btech.

Placement Experience:

The placements in my college is very good and top companies hire students across every branch with a good amount of package. At the end of 3rd year every student is elegible for the placements in college. About 20 to 25 companies visited for campus hiring and approximately 700 offers were given across the college from every branch. 60 percentage of students got placed in the campus hiring program. Highest package is 24 LPA and the aveyis 5LPA. My plan is to get into a good MNC company which is related to Aerospace technology.
