Remarks :
The college has a strong background and well-built infrastructure and a lot of facilities. The lab facilities of our college is remarkable. The library is one of the best library of University of Calicut. Also the librarian is a very well experienced person. The faculties is also well trained and behaved.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The Depart of Zoology in MES KEVEEYAM COLLEGE, VALANCHERY always had the upper hand in both academic activities and other extra curricular activities. The exams comes under the University of Calicut schedule.
Placement Experience :
There are no noticeable placements that our seniors had. Most of them continue to go for Masters in Zoology or life science related courses or they go for B. Ed. Our College does not provide internship.
College Events :
In our college, different types of programmes are conducted as well as different events are celebrated. The traditional festival of Kerala known as Onam is celebrated. The celebration of Kerala piravi is conducted. Christmas Celebration as well as New Year Celebration also takes place. Many programmes including the participation of the nearby people as well as many initiatives by the students for the welfare of the society as a helping hand is also done here. A lot of programmes both academic and extra curricular are organized by College Union and the college for the well-being of the students. Programmes related to arts and Sports are frequent here.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
The fee structure varies from one course to other. There are courses in our college, both which is self-financed as well as according to merit seats. The fee is not at all expensive when compared to the quality of education and standards that the college provides to.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
I have no knowledge on any good scholarship or loan facility offered by my college. It doesn't mean that our college isn't providing. To my knowledge, there isn't any scholarships or loan facility offered by my college.
Campus Life :
There are different labs in our college. Chemistry Lab, Botany Lab, Zoology Lab, zoology museum, psychology lab, computer lab, physics lab, optometry lab etc. Also the college have grounds for different sports activities such as football, basketball, volleyball, badminton etc. They are being used by the students on a daily basis.
Hostel Facilities :
There is girls hostel available. There are boys hostel available. If I have to opt for hostel, I would rate the hostel infrastructure and facilities as good. If I have to rate on a scale of 10, my rating would be 7 out of 10.
Alumni/Alumna :
There is a very strong alumni network for our college. They recently had a get-together summit. They are really helpful in many ways. They are very generous, helping, kind and they look forward to us. They give suggestions to us to pursue different streams of life science which are rarely chosen after under graduation
Admission :
After completing my Higher secondary education, I applied for Under Graduation programme under University of Calicut. I got allotment in this college for the under graduate programme in zoology. I came into the college and seeker help from the Help-desk provided by the college students. With the help of them and other staffs of colleges, they helped me to complete my admission process. At the end of the admission there will be a face-to-face interaction with the principal in his cabin.
Faculty :
The department of Zoology in MES KEVEEYAM COLLEGE, Valanchery have a very good line-up of faculties. They are very much supportive and down to earth and moreover always approachable regardless. They are indeed a role model to the Zoology students in our college.
