Remarks :
I would recommend if you're not into CA then better go for BBA or B.Com (Hons) program. They have better curriculum and future prospects and the life over there is way better than the regular program. Also if you're a freshman then you better find out what you want to do in life. And don't make any hasty decisions. Think twice and research throughly before you join any course or college.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Well if you're interested in doing CA as well along with b.com as graduation degree then you won't find any issues. The curriculum is 60% of CPT and 40% of IPCC through out the years. Also be sure of the electives that you choose. For example if you want to pursue M.A in Economics from MSU then for bcom pass outs it is necessary that they have given 6 papers of economic subject in 3 years. As far as curriculum is concerned it is the same as everywhere else. Nothing new. You won't be assigned any projects or assignments to do. Exams are divided into 2 parts. Mid-sems and end sems. Mid-sems are 30 marks mcqs and end sem are 70 marks subjective.
Internships Opportunities :
Well the regular b.com program doesn't. But b.com (hons) does have internship in their curriculum. But one can work part-time as the lectures are only of 3 hrs per day. Working part-time could fetch one aroun 10k to 20k.
Placement Experience :
For a fresher the jobs that'll be offered are mainly for Accountancy, Sales, BPO. Average pay can be expected from 15k to 25k a month (depending upon job profiles). Local companies and banks participate in the placement.
College Events :
There are various and numerous number of events and activities keeps happening on the campus. As well as there are fests. The most popular fest is paramash organized by the Technology department. There are off campus events happening as well.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
The fee is quite cheap for b.com (regular) for boys - 7k and for girls -6k. And for the honors program the fee is around 20-25k p.a. The scholarship information can be found on the university's website. For any queries one can contact the msu admission office.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
There's hardly any need for loan as fee is quite cheap for b.com (regular) for boys - 7k and for girls -6k. And for the honors program the fee is around 20-25k p.a. The scholarship information can be found on the university's website.
Campus Life :
One can find different clubs from literature to music, dance to sports, etc. Every now and then events keep happening on the campus. So there's always a rush of students in the campus most of time. The Hansa Mehta Library is quite popular.
Hostel Facilities :
I did had some friends who used to stay in the msu's hostels. And their expectations were quite bizarre. I would recommend that you rent a flat of find a good pg which is easily available. The hostel infrastructure is quite pathetic.
Alumni/Alumna :
I wasn't a regular student so i hardly know about the on campus life or the alumnus. And as far as seniors are concerned they're are clubs that can help you out with any type of queries that you may have.
Exam Structure :
The exam structure is quite simple and easy to comply with. In total there are 6 semesters. And each semester will have two exams i.e. mid-sems and end-sems. Mid-sems are of 30marks mcqs and End-sems are of 70marks subjective.
Admission :
The admission process is very simple and user friendly. First you need to check the registration dates of the particular program you want to enroll in. After that you just need to go on the University's website and you can easily navigate to the admission domain. Then you just need to follow the instructions as mentioned and you will informed about the futher process via mail or sms. For queries you can call the admission office.
Faculty :
The faculty are really good. Some of the faculties are the professor for other departments as well. Every teacher are proficient in their field and well educated. The professors are also friendly and helpful. So you can contact them without any hesitation.
