Remarks :
My college have a great campus. I will sit there for hours enjoying the aesthetic beauty. It's very beautiful. The moments with friends spending time in the campus and canteen are memorable. Mainly i have chosen this college considering its campus beauty.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Course Curriculum - I'm not satisfied on the syllabus that we are following because that include more than 90% theory based papers, in my opinion more practical papers and works should be included to increase the skills and talent of the student in the relevant fields. Exam Structure - All the exams in my college is conducted by the college itself because it is an Autonomous college and they have the power. Questions are prepared from a team of question makers and the valuation consist of 2 parts, Internal and External valuation. The results will be announced within 3-6 months after the exam. The internal assessment exams are conducted by the department itself.
Placement Experience :
There is a placement cell in our college. Interviews and training are provided by then for getting a job and how to prepare for aptitude tests and all. Several companies approach our college for recruitments. I'm a third year student, I have attended a Campus Recruitment.
College Events :
Events :- 1) Union Day 2) College Day 3) Sports Day 4) Arts Day 5) Holi 6) Onam Celebration 7) Christmas Celebration 8) Association Day All these events are very much entertaining and we are all excited to enjoy those moments. Somedays there will be some campus shows conducted by various television channels at the time of lunch break. The College will be decorated on these events. Students from other colleges will visit to enjoy these events. I will surely miss all these moments with my friends beacuse I'm getting passed out on March 2020. Then i will become a stranger to my college.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
The fee structure is feasible when compared to the fee structures of other college's. In Self financing departments fees charged is 10 times larger than the fees charged from aided students. For students facing financial crisis they have grants and other fee concessions.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Government Grant is there in college which provide a sum of money yearly till the graduation is completed. College offer fee concessions and other deductions based on the provisions of the university and government.
Campus Life :
Sports have a great importance in our college especially in Volley Ball, Kabbadi, Cricket and Wrestling. There are teams for all these events and our college assure participation in all events. Our college are the university champions. I haven't used any lab in my college. Because we don't need labs, I'm a B.Com student.
Alumni/Alumna :
Alumini Associations are conducted every year. Frankly, i don't know what to tell about this network as I haven't attended this association. I have heard that they have donated certain sum of money for the renovation of the hall and other infrastructure facilities.
Admission :
I applied to this college because it is an Autonomous college. At the time of admission i had to wait until my name was called. After that they verified my 10th and 12th marks, then the Head of the Department asked me some questions. Finally, they told us to see the Principal and take admission. Principal entered my name jn the register and provided me the admission card.
Faculty :
The faculties are very much dedicated and they have much interest to teach in our college in our campus. CMS College, Kottayam is the first college in India. Most of the faculties in our college have Doctrate. Both self financing and aided departments are there.
